ok so I just got engaged and we are looking at prices... I'd like to have a wedding in Manhattan especially since I'm having about 120-150 people.
My personal opinion on anything outside of the city is typical with 1980's decor...
Unfortunetly my budget (as anybody else's really) is limited and I'm looking at no more than $200-$210 per person cost of place+food; is that possible in Manhattan or am I way out of range?
Throw suggestions my way!

heres my suggestion.. this is not something you want to say on LONG ISLAND weddings.com.. key word 'long island' as in MOST OF US ARE GETTING MARRIED IN THOSE 1980s DECOR places.

Re: advice needed
im confused about your guest count and why that only means you can look in manhattan?
i looked into tribeca rooftop for a saturday evening and it came out about $300 pp, thats the only info i have, check weddingsitesandservices.com for a general range
but i would be a little careful on how you phrase things, 99% of us are getting married in LI soooo

Wow thats kind of rude -there are plenty of places on LI that aren't like that. In fact I think there are more places near the city that have the 80s decor...

Just to give you a heads up... the 1980's decor comment might cause a bit of drama . Is part of it true.. of course, but there are beautiful halls that do not have that sense of decor.
I'm not too familiar with Manhattan. My best suggestion is to purchase the locations magazine. It includes Long Island, Manhattan, all of the borough's, westchester, and parts of Jersey. If you register at Macy's they give it to you for free.

Your first post? You want advice? And yet, you insult everyone on the boards. How does this make any sense?

Hmmm . . . curious choice of words indeed, but nonetheless I shall give you the benefit of the doubt - Bridgewater's packages start at 130 pp (daytime) and go into 200s Chelse Piers - I believe at the Lighthouse they wanted about 250pp
There are definitely plenty of places on LI without 1980s decor. Good luck.

A little late. My advice to you is go buy New York City Bride Magazine and look at the table in back of the maginize listing the venues and price ranges for events.

I don't like attacking new people, but come on, really?
If you want actual advice just be a bit more PC and you'll be fine.
