I am so sorry, but if I were you I would have a small cermony now, like everyone else suggested, but definitly talk to your dad about it.
Good luck with your decision.

so sorry to hear about your situation. The two ceremonies sound like a good idea. Hopefully your dad will walk you down the aisle at both. Best wishes to you and your family

I agree with the girls on here. I have a friend that is ordanied and probably could do your ceremony. Even if you had something in a park with a gazeboo and then all go out to dinner or what ever your dad can handle. I know it is hard to make this call but search your heart the right answer is in there.

I would agree to move the date up if you can. You can always have the reception at a later date. You and your family are in my thoughts

Re: Advice Needed - Please help :(
Thank you so much all of you for your kind words. I think that you're all right about the ceremony now and the party later. Believe it or not, I couldn't even see that option at the moment. My only concern is it is going to mean acknowledging that my dad may not make it to the June wedding. That's hard. I mean, we all know the reality, but none of us really want to face it headon. Most of all my dad doesn't really want to face it - though I think he is silently. I think I will talk to my mom privately about this first and see what she thinks. If she thinks that he can handle it and the rest of us can handle it then I think that's the way to go. Thank you all so much. It's so good to have someplace to go with this. It's very hard to communicate these feelings to my family right now because we're all trying to keep it together and keep our chins up. Fi's been getting most of my emotional fallout. I'll keep you posted.

First of all, let me say how sorry I am that you are going through all of this in the first place. Second, let me apologize for discussing this in such a matter-of-fact way, but as much as it might be painful for your family to have the wedding now, G-d forbid, if something does happen to your father before next June, it would be MUCH harder to have the wedding then, without him. It's not just about him walking you down the aisle, but more importantly, it's about having him at your wedding altogether. I think that's most important, and you should do whatever you can (financially, planning time, etc.) to have your wedding sooner.... Good luck to you and your family, and bless you all...

I am so sorry you have to go through this. Its hard at any time to care for a sick parent espicially during a time that should be happy. I think you should listen your heart...no matter what you decide its will be what is right for you and your family. You and your family are in my prayers.

Re: Advice Needed - Please help :(
I am so sorry to hear about your dad. My grandma was diagnosed with cancer the day after x-mas, the day after we got engaged. She was very close to my FI and I and she was the last grandparent either one of us had. Through her chemo all she talked about was our wedding and dancing with my FH. She really loved him. When it started to look like she was not going to make it to the wedding my FH and I decided to get married in the hospital with her and then continue with our scheduled marriage. We looked into arranging for a pastor to do the service in her room, but we did not get a chance to tell her. We had hoped that she would still be able to make the real wedding, but that she would be able to get a sneak preview. My FH husband wanted to dance with her in her wheel chair in the hallways. Although her spirits were so high, she took a turn for the worst that night. She went into a coma and never came out. She passed away and was not able to see us married. I regret that we were not able to do this for her and for us, but i know she will be there with us in the long run. I do not envy your position, and I am sorry my response is so long. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry that you and your family are in pain during what is supposed to be a happy time for all of you.
Please let us know if there is ANYTHING we can do - I know all the girls on here would be quick to help you with whatever you need whether it be decorating a gazebo at a local park, helping you find a small intimate place for a dinner or just to listen.
We will all be thinking of you - I know you are in my prayers
