Advice please

Hi all. So I am getting married in the Bourne Mansion on June 3 06 and I did everything but book the music. I dontk now what I should do.. A DJ or band OR BOTH. which will be real expensive....

I think I want a band cause it is tradition (and of couse my family is giving me a hard time) but then I want a DJ cause every one will dance and have a better time...

My FI wants the DJ but I still have not made my mind up... ONe thing I do know is that time is running out...

Please let me know your thoughts... What is everyone doing...

Im doing a DJ... there are companies that have a DJ/band mixture... I know my DJ (tommys tunes) has a package where you can have drums and whatever added.... it is a bit more pricey but looked awesome in the videos they showed us! that might be a good compromise... they also have an awesome Frank Sinatra singer... but he books up fast! he will sing during dinner, or cocktail hour

Bands are classy, but DJs are sooo much more fun! I booked In the Mix DJs from Mineola. They seem to be really upbeat and will get the crowd dancing. If you go w/ a DJ make sure you hire an Emcee as well.

That's a tough decision. Maybe you can have a jazz trio or something like that for the Cocktail hour and a DJ for the reception. That way you have the best of both worlds!

My cousin in getting married at the Bourn Mansion in Oct this year. They are having a big Italian/Greek wedding and they are having a DJ. Yes the Mansion is beautiful and yes a band is classier in some respect but DJ's are a lot of fun and really can get the guests into it...If that is what you both want. I personally love DJ's and never considered a band. Other family members have had them and they are limited. I never looked at it as a cost issue. It is OUR preference.
Good Luck with your decision but I know my cousin and his FW are getting married at Bourn with a DJ. I can't wait...The place looks beautiful!
