Advise overload!!

Ok.so everyone and their mother has a make up person recommendation!! Idk where to start! I don't have the money to do 5 different trails! But idk how to decide who to go to!
So I have b2 questions...
1.how did you decide who to try and who not to?
2.when did u go? I'm afraid if I.wait to long a good person well be booked!

Any advice who be greatly appreciated!!

Advise overload!!

I had a free trial (special she was running through here, at the time) and booked because I went to party that night and everyone said how great my makeup looked. Looking back, I wish I'd done another trial to have something to compare it to. I'm having my hair done by Gina Marie and Glamour Me Up Down the Aisle, and I wish I'd done a makeup trial with her also. She's so lovely, and very reasonably priced.

I think I did the free trial too that your talking about but i personally didn't care for my make up at all.

I have the following on my list...
Fabulous faces by Jackie
Kim Castro (friend of a bride on here that she highly recommended)
Andrea Caputo ( friend from my old job)
Glamour me up down the aisle
Tamara Eve salon (moh works there says boss is great)
Then I have a coworker at my current job who has a friend, my bm has a friend who is doing all her girls make up for her wedding, and my other bm recommended her girl that did her makeup for her wedding!!!

Advise overload!!

A lot of people use glamour me up down the aisle...i haven't heard of the other places. One way I decided because I hired a makeup artist in NJ (I am getting married on the NY/NJ border and did not want to pay someone travel costs) and did not know a thing about NJ people. There is also no wonderful message board like there is for LI brides!! I went on each persons Facebook page and wedding wire to compare reviews and looked at the pictures of their work. I ended up finding someone fabulous after a lot of research.

I had contacted Fire Monkey a while back (not ready for trials yet!) and asked her who she recommends and she said 'As far as makeup artists go Vivian at www.perfectlyblendedmakeup.com is excellent and does airbrushing as well as Stacy doolan www.stacydoolan.com'

Two girls that I went to high school with recently used Vivian and the pictures I saw looked great!

I got lucky here because my friend went for a trial with Sandra Baldini years ago when she was a bride & I was her bridesmaid. I loved her work and used her for that wedding and I told myself when I got married, I would use her. And here we are.

I'm using Kim Castro for my hair. She's really awesome and so reasonably priced you could easily afford her trial (half price).

For hair and makeup I am using the girl I've been going to for years. I trust her, she knows me and my style and I've always been happy with her work.. She told me for my January 9 wedding I should come to her at like the end of November for hair and makeup trial. I've already talked to her about it and she has my day blocked off. One thing I read and was told was that if you are getting married in winter, don't do trial in summer unless you plan on being just as tan in the winter as you are in the summer..

That was something that concerns me, I didn't get in the sun all summer so I'm super pale right now but plan on making tanning appointments for the wedding!
