Affordable engagement party venue in Manhattan?

Hey guys,
We have family all over the tri-state area, so we're looking for a venue in NYC to host an engagement party of about 75 people, that won't break our budget. HeLp! Just wanna do drinks and apps.

around what price range? like whats the max you want to spend?

for my e-party i wanted to do it in the city, i spent 2 months researching places and calling and didnt work out in the end. My problem was that i wanted it on a saturday evening, many places we would've had to been out by a certain time around 10pm, i didnt want to do it that early. And if we wanted to stay later then i would've had to pay ALOT extra to do so. Then lofts and empty spaces, with site fee's, food, drinks which was another problem we came across. For open bar many places were charging alot like $10 per person per hour, with our guestlist it was about $7k just for open bar. Then on top of that with loft spaces and that type of stuff, would've been even more extra to rent tables, chairs and decorating the place. Paying for cleaning staff which many places want you to do.

Also are you just looking to do a dinner(well drinks and apps i mean) or have a party with DJ and dancing? i wanted dj and dancing and also came across a few problems with that, only some places. If you want just a dinner, or maybe a lunch it can be easier.
