Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
Well here is my dress..problems with posting hold on
sorry it took so long and is a little crooked..its an italian venise lace by bridal originals all hand beading - pearl & crystal beads only I hate anything with sequins makes the material look cheap
1st dance bride/father groom/mother cake bo-k garter off garter throw garter on cake last dane
and any other must plays or ideas for video soundtrack?
Here are we are using. In the order that was requested: 1st dance - Lovers Rock by Sade
bride/Dad We are still working on it, but I like the -song 'Daddy's liitle girl' i believe it's by Elvis
groom/mom -Bryan's parents are deceased - hence no son and mom dance
Cake - we are tossed between a few songs 'Spend my life with you' by Tamia and Eric Bene (sp?) 'This ring...' I am not sure who this song is by. 'Fortunate' by Maxwell (who's my favorate artist), and there are a few others
Bo-K - This is tough; I thought about 'girls just wanna have fun' by Cindy Lopper (sp?) Song by Ferrel - can't think of the name. I am going to colaborate with my bridal party - they may have nice suggestions
Garter - haven't decided
Last dance - 'I've had the time of my life' can't think of the artist, but this was the song on Dirty dancing.
And... that's it for now.

I really want to jump the broom but FI is like ' He## no! We are not jumping over cleaning utensils.' I'm Afr-Amer and FI is Haitain so he had never heard of it before. Check out this site. wedding brooms
How funny, I have th opposite situation. I am Haitian and FH is Af-Am. Although I had heard of jumping the broom, I didn't think about doing it until FH asked if we were. He wants to so I gave in. I know some of my family will be like WFT are they doing!

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
I went to that wedding broom site and all I have to say is Good GOD!
$50 for a broom? Although they were pretty, I will have to give it the old college try and do it myself.
I bet if I tell FH the broom is 50 bucks he will quickly forget about jumping the broom

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
Finding a song list on the web may be hard but if you are looking for specific hits or top 100 songs for the year go to to the Grammy's website and type in a search of the year you are looking for like 2001 top 100 you can then browse the list and get both the title of the song and artist....I needed to do this for my dj. He gave us 2 sample cd's of his work it was good (my makeupartist Lynda Lane asked for a copy!) but I am a stickler for current hits I want to hear. As for old school and back in the day music I will leave that up to my fiance he is good with the oldies but goodies...the only oldies I like is house music!
