Speaking of DJs if anyone wants to know a good one, Shamma and I both used Entertainment Integrators. They are AA. They are off the hook. I'm STILL getting compliments.

You are going to LOVE Mandusa. I had the BEST wedding due in part to him.
People were asking for his business cards left and right.

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
Liz you are so right. We used to have conversations like this on FM, rarely on the main board. Okay, I want to promote my DJ too. Elegancia Entertainment-they were the best. Puerto Rican owned but can play konpa like they came straight from Haiti. Hip-hop, R&b, reggae-it was the best party. I know some guests didn't eat because they were dancing too much. They've done a few other family weddings and are doing my brother's wedding in July. If anyone wants the info, let me know.

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
Hi Tammy,
I would certainly like the DJ information. We are in the process of looking for one, and I sure can appreciate a referral far more than a blind eye.
DJ Mack and Touch of Magic DJs. I;m not sure about Colorblind. Also try www.gigmasters.com, where I found my guy, smoothdjrus. He's from St. Thomas, which was perfect for me.

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
Speaking of Entertainment Integrators, one of my good friends highly recommended them and I agree the music at her wedding was great. However, when my FH called they never got back to us, so he called again and tentatively scheduled but they didn't follow through- this was late Nov./ early Dec.
FH thought that was poor business practice and ruled them out- but, I hear you guys raving about them here and I am tempted to give them another try. What do you think- are they that worth it?

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
I met with Entertainment Integrators too, I liked them. Definitely worth seeing. I peronally didn't like A Touch of Magic-thought the guy was a little cheesy. He's is popular and definitely affordable but not for me. My DJ: Elegancia (888) 346-5262 Ask for Lucy or Jose, the owners. You'll love them.
Liz and Kysha-I'm up for a local GTG-Bronx or Westchester. What do you think?

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
Skip it, go with your gut reaction...if you called 1-2x and have no response think of the problems that may happen on your wedding day.....no vendor has so much business or is so busy they can't return a telephone call it's common courtesy and good business practice. Period. But it's your money and your affair.

Re: AFRICAN-AMERICAN BRIDES
Has anyone come across any good day spas on Long Island or in NYC that cater to African American women or a good spa in general
