What's the deal with after parties? Is it something you should do if you have a day wedding? And then doesn't that use up any money you might have saved from having the reception during the day? Do you have them after an evening reception? Do you have to have one at all? And then where do you have it and how much do they cost? That's a lot of questions, sorry!

Our receptions is over at midnight, so we don't see the need for an afterparty. Some people choose to have them to 'keep the party going' but by the end of the night, I'm sure I'll want some alone time with FH and want to sleeep!

when our wedding ended at 11 almost everyone followed us back to the hilton, they were on their own with drinks though

Our reception ends at 11:30 and we're going back to the Marriott to drink and hang out with our friends...but we're not planning anything special...

Our reception is over at 12:30AM. There is a pub at the Harrison House that they are keeping open until 2AM for us for anyone who should want to keep partying.

We had an afterparty after our evening wedding. We wanted a chance to continue partying with a lot of our friends who had traveled to NY for the wedding. We told everyone to meet at a particular lounge after the wedding. It worked out really well. There was no extra cost involved for us. We were able to hang out till 4am with our guests and then went to a friend's apt and then finally got home at 6am.

We are also continuing the party at a hotel afterwards. We're getting married at East Wind, so we'll either use the Inn and bar there, or we'll provide shuttles to a nearby hotel from the reception. A bunch of my friends have done it, and it's a lot of fun!

our wedding at east wind ends at 12am we are staying at inn along with parents some friends and family- others will be in near by hotels, bar/lounge will be open and we will most likely go there to hang out drink etc...we will prob leave before everyone else does though for some alone time

Our reception ends at 5:30 as well... My mom is having the after party in her backyard... Nothing big but just some more dancing and drinks...

We are getting married at East Wind and a bunch of our relatives and friends are staying there for the night so we will probably go to the bar and just hang out for a while. Everyone is on their own moneywise.

Us too as of right now. We might try and rent out a bigger suite or a small banquet room to keep the party going.

We're going to keep the party going in the hotel b/c most of our Bridal Party and close friends are staying there - even though our wedding is a Sunday that ends at 12:30 a.m.!

Our wedding ends at 5pm and I want to spend as much time possible with my guests We are having it at the hotel that we and our OOT guests are staying at.... pool and bar - guests are on their own for drinks tho.

I think we'll be too tired for an after party after our evening reception. But we're planning on getting together with close friends and family at a lounge in the city the day after our wedding, since we're leaving for our HM 3 days after the day of, it works out.

We were exhausted after our wedding but had a BBQ the next day with OOT'ers and our friends. It was great - we were all refreshed and ready to start again!

We are partiers so we got a lounge room set up at the hotel for afterwards. Even thou our rec. ends at 1AM!!! Everyone is on there own for drinks thou. We'll probably just get a couple cases of beer on the way back.
