So now that the wedding planning is behind us what is the next big project for you?
For me - we moved right into the 'home' phase. We started looking for homes on LI but the prices are crazy and we're pretty sure the bubble will burst soon. In the meanwhile, as we sit tight, we decide to update our co-op. We updated the kitchen - no more wallpaper! and the bathroom - again no more wallpaper! We're hoping to be done in a few weeks and then I can post pics. In the meanwhile I've been consumed with accessory shopping. Shower curtains and soap dishes. lol

Re: After the wedding....
We went into crazy mode. We're moving out of state (to afford a nice house) and thinking about babies...our life right now is pure chaos.

Us too. I've actually been in our new house since the end of august, but with the wedding around the corner, we were consumed with planning rather than setting the house up. I pretty much have all my stuff unpacked and put away and a couple of the rooms looking like real rooms. Our next HUGE (and I mean HUGE) project is getting DH's condo cleaned, packed and put on the market. Our goal is to have this done by March 1st

Re: After the wedding....
My next project is going to be unpacking and organizing my house and basement. During the week there is no time and on the weekends I want to relax. But I am going to make time next month to really unpack and get everything situated. Oh and of course shopping for items for the home.
Ang - your home is going to look gorgeous!

Re: After the wedding....
Me - losing weight! Whoo hoo! Me - getting healthy!! Whoo hoo! Me - getting a new job either in same company or different... Baby making...we're interested in starting a family, but would like to get the above two worked out first. Still unsure if getting a house first is as important to us anymore since our apartment is so ideal.

We don't have any major projects on the horizon. We definitely cannot afford a home on Long Island, and DH cannot move out of NY. I'm not quite ready for babies yet - maybe by the end of the year. Right now we're just enjoying marriage. We're going on a cruise next week - AWESOME!!

in the same boat with Ang
we're starting to look at homes. the prices have definitely stabilized! houses that we saw last year around this time were in the 400-500 range and now we're seeing similar one's for the upper 300's, good news for buyers.

That's still way too high for us, do-able, but what we can afford in GA for that amount messes with our head.

did you see Newsday on Saturday- it's becoming a buyers market- I know that lots of houses in Long Beach are for sale and no ones buying! it's great news- b/c the market is controled by how people feel along with other economic factors- we need more articles like that- it puts fear in the hearts of sellers to make them drop there prices!

I truly believe (maybe I should say hope) that the houses will go down. So many have been on the market for so long without any movement and we have seen quite a few go down in price. On the flip side...while it's great for me as a buyer - it hurts as a seller - which we'll be at the same time. Can never win.
Meanwhile...we can all have mini-mansions down south for the same price.

It's a tough decision!

Re: After the wedding....
No big project for us yet. We're not looking for a house until next year and not even thinking about kids until we have a house. However, I'd love to lose the weight I put back on since the wedding. We just started a weight loss contest at work so hopefully this will give me the motivation to get back in shape and eat healthier.

Re: After the wedding....
My project is moving.
Can't wait to get out of New York and get situated down in Florida where I will be able to eventually live in a beautiful house and not worry about how the bills are going to be paid. Soooo looking forward to this.
I have to laugh at the people (mostly co-workers) that keep making comments to me about the weather (how hot the summers get) or how they would NEVER move to Florida... (I dont recall asking what they thought about it)
I'll be the one calling them from the beach during the next huge snowstorm here in NY just to say hi!
