I have to laugh at the people (mostly co-workers) that keep making comments to me about the weather (how hot the summers get) or how they would NEVER move to Florida... (I dont recall asking what they thought about it)

Thanks Ang!! I don't recall the summers in NY being cold, do u?? I'm sure it will be an HUGE adjustment, but in the long run, I'd much rather be with my family and be sweating, then have to plan trips and fly to Florida to see them!

It's disgusting quite frankly, but I am almost sure that the market will level out or drop a little. Otherwise Long Island will be rich and poor. There will no longer be middle class. And I know our Politicians do not want that. A lot of people our age are leaving. It's not so much the 3,000 mortgage for 30 years that we can't afford. We could if that were it. But it's not . All these homes are not even all that nice. They still needs a ton of work done to it. So that's a huge mortgage plus renovation work??? HECK NO!!! It's crazy!!!! We are waiting until it becomes a buyers market instead of a sellers market. Hopefully that will be soon!!!

I am a die hard New Yorker. I never plan nor want to leave. However, if I HAD to, I would. I would do anything to 'better' my family. Right now, we are not at the point where we have to leave. Maybe one day I will and maybe not. All our family is here.
But I would go anywhere, anyday if I had to.
It would kill be b/c I love NY, but you gotta do what you gotta do!

We don't have any major projects on the horizon. We definitely cannot afford a home on Long Island, and DH cannot move out of NY. I'm not quite ready for babies yet - maybe by the end of the year. Right now we're just enjoying marriage. We're going on a cruise next week - AWESOME!!

Us too! Our delayed HM to Tahiti, a wedding in Colorado in spring 07, maybe a trip in Jan 07 or summer 07. I wait for those semi-last minute deals to pop up online.

We are totally settled in our house but our next big project is really DH's--and me being there as a support---he is going for his MBA degree....in the evenings, after work. I'm sure it'll be crazy but definitely worth it for us in the long run.
And somewhere between all that we'd like to travel.

After we first got married, we focused on setting up house and living together as a couple, since we didn't before hand - that in itself took up a lot of our free time, trying to figure it all out. ... lately it's been talk about finding a house and having a family and planning our 30th birthday's this year.

We had a few big projects. The first was finding our apartment in Manhattan, which we managed to do in a week. Now that we've moved in, we're trying to figure out the best furniture arrangement and which furniture to buy. It's actually more stressful than wedding planning!

we are looking to buy a condo but it has to fit all the furniture we decided we needed for our apartment now- we thought we stay here a little longer - but we just found a perect loft for oursleves - i thought we would be looking for a while- hopefully we will get it

we're settled as far as housing goes--- we've been living in this condo for quite a few years in chicago.
hope to move back to the east coast but again, with those prices
that would mean new jobs for dh and me but we would already have family and friends out there
juggling a lot of traveling for 2006 is our big project in the near future! six weddings and all out of state!

We plan on going to Italy later this year too and to Amsterdam, Jamaica and Australia next year...then the babies!
