Afternoon in nice hall vs. night wedding in restaurant/ballroom

Would you rather get married in a well known, imoressive catering hall on a Saturday afternoon, or a less extravagant hall/restaurant on a Saturday night? Why?

Re: Afternoon in nice hall vs. night wedding in restaurant/ballroom

i personally like the day wedding in a nice hall thing. first thing is if you get married during the day sometimes these really nice halls are cheaper. and i also like the fact that my guests are not getting home late and its also not too late for a lil after party. thats just me everyones different

Personally, day or night doesn't matter for me. A good atmosphere and DJ is more important. What 2 halls are you between? Maybe we can give you more specific feedback.

Afternoon in nice hall vs. night wedding in restaurant/ballroom

I'm all for Saturday night weddings. They have a more formal, special vibe that cannot be replicated in the afternoon.

Re: Afternoon in nice hall vs. night wedding in restaurant/ballroom

We had a day wedding at Giorgio's and it was fantastic. I was so so so worried about having a day wedding, and I'm so glad I did. Everyone still partied and danced, and I don't think it being earlier in the day made anyone think otherwise. We got tons of compliments from people who had never been to a day wedding about how great it turned out.

Afternoon in nice hall vs. night wedding in restaurant/ballroom

If i had to choose I'd do a day wedding at a hall rather then night at restaurant. I feel like having you're wedding at a hall is just a completely different vibe/experience. IMO restaurant weddings are usually a little less formal and a little more relaxed. They usually don't have as grand of a cocktail hour, dance floor, and I think you usually sacrifice s lot of the traditional wedding stuff (bp entrance, bridal suite, bridal attendants, etc.). I wouldn't choose based on time of day, look at the kind of wedding you want. I just think reception halls offer more options.
