Re: Afternoon wedding question

I am having an afternoon wedding and my girls are wearing tea length. But I have been in 2 afternoon weddings and wore long for all three. So go with whichever you prefer.

Re: Afternoon wedding question

Either way I don't think it matters. These days girls are going with cocktail dresses for night weddings. Do whatever makes you happy and what you think looks right for your wedding. I've been a BM in day weddings where I've worn long gorgeous dresses and I've been a BM in a night wedding as well and wore a cocktail length dress.

I think either is fine. I might lean towards tea-length though, especially since it will be summer.

We are having an afternoon wedding and the BMs will be wearing tea length dresses.

I would personally prefer knee length or tea length. Long is too formal for an afternoon wedding. Once again my personal opinion. If its during the summer? even more of a reason. Ask them and see what they think it would comfortable for them.

Re: Afternoon wedding question

To me it was my wedding so whatever I wanted - I wanted a formal wedding but also wanted daytime. My BMs had long gowns. It's YOUR wedding do whatever YOU want. People throw around 'etiquette' and 'rules' when it's convenient for them, for example, how many of us were virgins when getting married?? My point is, do what you WANT, it's your day, don't let 'rules' or 'etiquette' steer you away from something you really want. Our moms both wore long dresses as well (their choice)

Re: Afternoon wedding question

I had an afternoon wedding and all my BMs wore full length dresses. Think about it....no one really gets married at night and everyone's pictures are done during the day...why would it matter that they wear long or short dresses for the reception?

Re: Afternoon wedding question

I had an afternoon wedding at the same RH as you and my whole life I always thought my BMs would wear long dresses but I decided to go with tea length partially because of the time (our church was at 9:30 which was more of a factor than our 1:00 reception) but moreso because of the place...we took pics on the beach and stuff and I felt like tea length fit better w the casually elegant thing that I was going for...

so long story short, I think you should base your decision more about the overall feeling you want to achieve and not so much the time...HTH

Re: Afternoon wedding question

Since it is afternoon in July, I think a tea length would be pretty!

I have been to weddings in the summer where the girls wore long and they looked great. Either one is fine, but tea length gets my vote!
