First of all, I want to say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your dress. While I'm not usually a fan of pick-ups, I think it is simply gorgeous on your dress. Forget what the salesperson said - your dress is very sophisticated looking. The top is not something a '16 year old' would wear. I know you will look beautiful on your wedding day!

And I know it's been said before but you do NOT look 41! I hope I look as good as you when I'm 35! Ha!

First, F that saleslady in the A. Pardon my vulgarity, but I don't know what her problem was- how do you say that to someone? You are a bride- why not wear what you want??? All of those rules seem so anachronistic these days. None of it applies anymore. YOu wear what you want!!

Second, you look AMAZING- I bet the 20 year old you stole that body from is super pissed. Babe- you want those pick-ups?? You get them and wear the hell out of them. That is just the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

The joy of a wedding day is not the exclusive domain of the 'young'. It is for everyone who has had the good fortune to find love, and who wants to share that with the people they know. And it is for you to celebrate in any way you see fit.

You will look like an absolute princess, and I truly hope you take your business elsewhere to someone who understands this. This shouldn't even take up a moment of your thoughts.

Best of luck, and show it off. Either you have worked very hard for that body, or God loves you. Either way, I am bitter and resentful. If I had your shape, at 36, I'd be wearing a g-string and pasties with tassles, walking down the aisle screaming 'Check me out.'

I'm 33. I've seen brides and bridesmaids my age and older wearing dresses with pickups and there wasnt' anything remotely sweet-16-ish about it.

Don't let a snooty saleslady drive your decision. You know your body and what works best on you better than anyone. It's a beautiful dress and you will look radiant in it!

i'm 26.....can't wait to see pics of you in that dress.
You look beyond amazing for 41 You can totally rock that dress!!

I am almost 30 and if I look like you do at 40 I will be wearing nothing some may call 'age appropraite' :)

It is your first wedding and to me that is enough to warrant the ballgown, the pickups and anything else you would have if you were 25.

I think with second weddings some people like to play things down but this is your first, you have no children - wear white or ivory - do nothing different than you would have 15 years ago!

I'm 25 and will be 26 when I get married. You look amazing and I would say wear that dress. It is tasteful and appropriate for you...YOU LOOK AMAZING. You are a beautiful and very young looking woman -WOW.

Please promise that you won't buy it from that woman who told you that you were to old for a pick up. I mean, I understand what she was thinking but, that's just not the case with MOST pickup dresses. The dress you chose is regal and very appropriate for you.

The dress is gorgeous, and I think you would look really great in it. Honestly, whether this is your first, second, or third wedding, you should be able to wear whatever you want. It's your day and you should feel beautiful regardless of age. I say go for it!

And if you feel uncomfortable about the color, a lot of dresses come in Ivory or an off-white-goldish color. And some come in grey, pink, gold, lavender, or a whole host of other colors (sometimes designers have dresses that double as BM dresses too).

So do whatever you want, it's your day!
