Age is just a number

Age is just a number

Why are people obsessed with age?

I turned 30 today.

I've gotten more 'Are you ok with it?'s' than anything.

I'm GREAT with it. 30 is the fresh new chapter in my life. This past year was tough for me.
I'm embracing the newness 30 brings. I feel great. I'm wearing a pretty dress. Big man is picking me up and we are going to AC.

Life starts at 30.

Why does this milestone still bother people?

Misery loves company. I think some people are inheritently jealous and mean. They want you to join them in their misery. They want to bathe in the waters of your unhappiness. By being positive and happy, you are crushing their dim hope of happy misery. Good job!!

30 didn't bother me. 35 is bothering me a little, but mostly because our life isn't 'settled' without a house. I feel like that's the last step in entering adulthood and it's taking too long.

A lot of people gave me crap about being 30 and having children. I hope you don't get the same.

I will be there next week....I was more bummed about turning 25. I honestly think I am okay with it because I am happy about where I am in life right now & looking forward to the future.

Happy b-day M-Lo

I have yet to be bummed about a birthday. Maybe 40. But I have 14 years before that.

Omg, Thank You!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad that I've finally found another person who understands that 30 is not the end of the world!!!!!!! I hate the 'I'm getting old' bit.

First of all...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I'm turning 30 later this year. So far I'm ok with it. I have a friend who just turned 30 and she was upset...she said it just hit her right beforehand

I hope you win the big 3-0, $30,000 that is!

I remember taking the day off for my 30th birthday. In the end, it was no big deal at all. 35 was more of a shock!!!!!

Happy Birthday!

I turn 30 in July and I have been looking forward to it since I was 16. I know, I'm weird. I just feel at 30 you are an adult. No one can look at me anymore and say I'm just a kid. I'm tired of being a KID! Can I please be an adult now?

Boo Hiss to all the nay sayers of getting older!

I think turning 30 was the best thing to ever happen to me - I am 33 now....

I always say - given the alternative... what are you going to pick? Not living to 30??? Or 40... etc...

Re: Age is just a number

29 was a HUGE deal for me... but only because I had put all these time frames on my own life. I was like... I will be married, have my first child, own a house, have a kick *** job, visit Tibet, learn to meditate, win a Nobel Peace Prize and figure out how to style my hair by the time I am 30! When I turned 29 I realized I had exactly 12 months to achieve all these aspirations - I really wigged out!

But when I turned 30 - having done NONE of those things - I chilled out. The expiration date had come and gone and nothing horrible had happened. Then I began to live my life. And the year I turned 30? I started ACTUALLY dating FH. I got pregnant with my first child, I moved into our first home (even though it was an apartment), I could've won a Nobel Peace Prize for humanitarian efforts on my part in putting up with the bullsh*t of living with a man for the first time, I didn't go to Tibet - but I met a really cool guy who used to live in Tibet - and who taught me the keys to successful meditation. I am still working on the hair style... but yo - I don't have a time limit so there is no need to freak.

For what it's worth - my 30's have been SO MUCH BETTER than my 20's.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!
