there are a lot of homes in Brooklyn with for sale signs. you just have to look. or call the bank & ask for their foreclosure lists. its considered public knowledge so you can request the info & they will send it to you. also try searching on-line. try craigs list. there is another site zillow.com you can put in an address & search around that location. it is also tells you how much houses in the area have sold for recently.

good luck

Justin and I have been looking... we're waiting until the money tree grows in our backyard. Nassau is the only option for us -- we've got the down payment, and originally wanted a co-op or condo, but the maintenance is as much as a mortgage.... we don't know, this housing thing is like, our biggest issue with the wedding!

Well listen keep looking!!! I know that a few houses around the corner from mine just had to significantly lower their prices. I live right on the border of Hempstead and West Hempstead. One house just sold around the mid 300's, when it was originally priced in the mid to high 400's.

A lot of the problems with people who are selling is that they probably bought the house when the price was way inflated. Now they want to get their money back and then some, but buyers are not so quick to jump the gun. They know that the prices have to come down. So keep looking, you may find a bargain especially if you have sellers who really needs to sell.

If you're looking in Brooklyn. Check the Marine Park area. It is a really nice neighborhood and the housing prices are coming down significantly. Probably around high 300s to low 400s. I know you were talking about Bay Ridge, but that is serious $$$.

Fh and I are in the same boat. It's hard for us though cuz he works in Farmingdale and i currently work in the city. I a planning on going back to school but that could be the city or Nassau and then working somewhere lol.

We have no clue where we're going to end up. Probably in a box somewhere lol
