Re: AHHHH
sorry to hear about that. I hope 2007 brings you a lot of luck and happiness. The one good thing about DJs (we've been looking too) is that they require only a $100-$200 deposit.

Awwww... let him keep looking for a job. Not eerything has to go on hold. You can still research vendors that you want to meet and get ideas. Good luck to you both.

Re: AHHHH
I'm sorry that this is happening to you & your FH , but I believe everything happens for a reason, and that it will all work out the way it was ment to.
Last Summer, my business was sold, and obliv, I lost my job (with a great salary, but I also worked when ever needed, it came w/ the teritory I missed events family parties everything)
I took some time (the stay at home puppy mommy days) to think about what was important to me, and discuss it w/ FH..
I know work for a publication, where soem of my co-workers complain b/c 2 days a week we work til 6pm, to help get it ready for print.. I feel so lucky that I don't work past 6pm and my weekends are mine! Granted I'm making less money, but I'm enjoying a higher quality of life...
Things do work out, keep those chins up!
* as far as booking I'd continue to reseach and meet w/ vendors, if you meet w/ one you MUST have & book, I'd talk to them about your situation and try to neg, where you can give them a smaller deposit. Vendors are people too, that also have these experiences, I'm sure that there will be some that are understanding and willing to work with you...

tell him to go to a recruiter seriously...i said this before on here, but when you apply online there isnt an actual person who looks at your resume, it goes through this program once you email them and basically it scans the resume to check for keywords and if those keywords are not in there then it will never get checked by an actual person...also they get hundreds and some thousands of emails and takes a while even if it goes to the next step...I was applying in the summer, and i got responses months later after i already got a job through a recruiter...Actually i went to the recruiter they sent me on an interview the next day and i got the job the next day.
soo sorry about your FH, hope he finds something soon good luck

Re: AHHHH
i am very sorry to hear this!
my father was laid off after thirty years - and even though we had a really tough time for a while - he now has a job he LOVES - he works at the airport and gets to speak italian all day and hang out with people from the 'old country'!
first, find out if he is eligible for unemployment - and i think its a good idea to get some help looking for a job. . . i have had my job for over a year and a half and i am getting calls NOW from resumes i submitted online before i got this job!!!
check out usajobs.gov - all federal jobs are on there and you can apply for any he qualifies for - it may not be what he wants to do but its a steady job with great benefits!
good luck! - try not to give up on wedding planning!
