Do you want/mind your FH drinking with his buddies before the ceremony, even if just a shot or glass of champagne?
I really don't want FH drinking at all because he's got a couple of drinker friends and worry he might have more than 1 drink.

I do not want FH to drink before the church at all!!!!! I don't trust his friends but it may come down to him having a beer or 2 that will be ok I guess. I think I will need a glass of wine to calm my nerves!!!

I already told FI that he better not even have a sip of alcohol before the church. I also made all of our ushers promise me they won't either. They promised me but for some reason I just don't believe them

I hear you, I'll need a couple of beers!
Im more worried about the OOT guests being bored and getting sloshed at the hotel bar before my night wedding.

Re: ALCOHOL ON THE WEDDING DAY
it is so funny my FH and i have gone through this situation also. I had told him that i prefer he does not drink prior to the ceremony b/c i want us to both me ourselves when we say our vows. as far as the reception is concerned i told him that we can drink but just not a lot, that we should enjoy our wedding coherently.

Um...I don't mind at all..so long as he's not sloshed. I expect him to be nervous, and I expect him to have the time of his life...If it means a shot or two....so be it.
Anyways....I think I'll need a few myself before the ceremony. Take care of those butterflies

Same here I don't want anyone smashed or even buzzed, but then again I am sure I am going to drink a little before. We are getting married at the hall and it's not until 7:00pm.

Re: ALCOHOL ON THE WEDDING DAY
I was worried about that in the beginning but now FH has to work the day we get married!! YUP thats right, he has to work....so he will not have to much time to have more then a beer before he has to be at the church.

Re: ALCOHOL ON THE WEDDING DAY
Are you kidding me? If anything he should be worried about me. My nerves are going to be sooooooooo shot, I'll have a valum or 2 in my system, nevermind a few drinks. Sloshed on either part...NO! Comfy.....yes!!!! We'll both remember it ALL.

Re: ALCOHOL ON THE WEDDING DAY
FH doesn't drink and most of his friends that are in the wedding party aren't big drinkers so i'm not really concerned...but if they have one or two drinks it doesn't bother me...not that they will because we're going to start taking pictures at 9 AM so I don't know when they would have time to drink...they'll all probably wake up at 8 AM anyway

Re: ALCOHOL ON THE WEDDING DAY
i really can't see my FH drinking during the middle of the day like that-- it's just not his style and he is not going to act any differently than he normally does just b/c it's his wedding day-- i mean, it still is just another day-- just happens to be special for us. so maybe a glass of champagne afterwards but i can't see him drinking before our mass- lol, idk just seems like something he wouldn't want to do... that he would be uncomfortable doing it.
but by all means, afterwards: we are all going to have a nice congrats glass of champagne and i'll most definitely have a glass of pinot grigio during pics/ at the cocktail hour... so a little bit. we are both definitely not going to get buzzed/drunk b/c it's our wedding day and we want to be 100% for it-- b/c we are going to be talking to all of our guests and believe me, you can tell when i'm buzzed IMMEDIATELY lol lol lol so I don't want that on my wedding day-- just a congrats drink or to calm the nerves a bit.

Re: ALCOHOL ON THE WEDDING DAY
I dont mind if my FH drinks before or after the ceremony, as long as he is not completely wasted during our vows or the reception. I think it would be mean to tell him he couldn't even have champagne or anything cuz I know I'll be sipping the bubbly all day!

Re: ALCOHOL ON THE WEDDING DAY
I dont mind if FI has a beer or two b4 the church with his groomsmen. But to make sure that he doesnt drink any more than that, I'm sending over ONE of each guys favorite beer to their room when their getting dressed. And thats all they get! I'm make sure (i.e.-have some spies) that they dont bring anymore alcohol into that room b/c FI's friends have a tendancy to get out of control when they drink. I do want them all (especially FI) to remember the wedding

Re: ALCOHOL ON THE WEDDING DAY
i definitely think that i will have a little wine before the church - i really dont want FH drinking though . . . at my FBIL's wedding FH and his brother were so drunk they were swaying back and forth - it was so horrible and one of my fears for the day - i can definitely see his friends trying to get him to drink. .. i cant stop him i just hope if he DOES drink he is not too drunk to hide it from me! lol
