ALCOHOL ON THE WEDDING DAY

Original post by RobbsWifey

Do you want/mind your FH drinking with his buddies before the ceremony, even if just a shot or glass of champagne?

I really don't want FH drinking at all because he's got a couple of drinker friends and worry he might have more than 1 drink.

I don't mind my FH drinking before the ceremony. He knows his limits and I trust him not to get stupid before hand. Besides, We'll probably be drinking beforehand too... Aunt makes great mimosas.

I don't see how a celebratory glass of wine or a beer would hurt. Several would! but not one or two.

VERRRRYY IMPORTANT!!!!
IF YOU PLAN ON DRINKING- EVEN ONE GLASS OF WINE MAKE SURE YOU EAT SOMETHING! EVEN IF IT'S HALF A BAGEL.

I may start my day with a mimosa. Fh can handle his alcohol although I wouldn't want to smell alcohol on his breath!

I am sure FH will have a beer or two with the guys....he is a smart guy and i trust his judgement...so im not worried about him drinking too much before the church

My FH usually doesn't drink. He can milk an entire beer for a whole night. Therefore I am not worried at all.

We both promised that if we are going to have a drink before to make sure it's just 1 or 2. I know that I may have champagne before w/ my girls but we will not be intoxicated, that's for sure

FH will probably get drunk, but he's the life of the party when he is.. We probably aren't leaving for the HM til late the next day..

I probably won't really drink.. knowing me, I would get sick and why ruin a the best day of your life.. Plus, I am not so much of a drinker

I'm sure he'll have a shot or a drink with them for good luck. He would never get drunk before Church

I don't really mind...to FH 'drinking' is having two beers instead of one...although his friends will probably get ridiculous, he def. will not.

My FH is a nervous person, I think he would do better with a couple of beers in him prior to the ceremony. But thats about it. I dont want him looking drunk during all of the pictures.

I honestly can't picture FH having a drink in the middle of the day before the church. I'd like to think I would have a glass of champagne wiht my girls but i turn splotchy with alcohol so i probably wont....

I just dont see drinking before church ot be an issue...

NO WAY!!! My FH has strict instructions not to drink before any pictures. After the pictures he can have like 2!
He got sick on our engagement party...(good thing it was informal)
So he has strict rules!

it is so funny my FH and i have gone through this situation also. I had told him that i prefer he does not drink prior to the ceremony b/c i want us to both me ourselves when we say our vows. as far as the reception is concerned i told him that we can drink but just not a lot, that we should enjoy our wedding coherently.

Thats what I told my FH. I know he'll probably have a beer or 2 before the church though. I told him and the ushers that if he has more than 2 I'll kill them all (for a big guy he's a bit of a lightweight)

Hmmm, I would never tell my DH what he can and cannot do, he should know his limits....that is JMHO
