i was thinking of you last night while watching the amazing race. the episode was held in ethiopa. the children shown were so sweet, friendly and helpful. i was amazed at how loving and forthcoming they were to strangers.

the contestants also commented on how moved they were by their support.

it made me that much more excited and happy for you.

I was going to post the same thing! The part they were in was so beautiful & green. It kind of reminded me of parts of the Carribean. It was defintely a different lifestyle than here, but the people semed happy & so freindly.

It was the only images on Ethiopia I had ever seen sincee the food drops in the 80's.

The kids were so cute, I think all the contestants just wanted to take them home!

It made me think that your boys probably grew up with such love & generous, wonderful parents & it is tradgic that they lost them, but that generous spirit is probably in these young kids & with your love the will just grow up into wonderful people.

Re: Aliciahelene

did you see how the boy volunteered to carry her backpack? he saw that she was in pain and took it upon himself to grap her backpack. i found that to be such a selfless and caring gesture.

I know, and it didn't seem like they wanted anything in return.

I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING!!!
I couldn't belive how beautiful the land was.

And the kids were complete dolls!! When (I think it was Hayden) said I want to take the children home with me I had tears in my eyes!
And then when Jonathan had all the kids with him at the finish line... It was so nice!

Re: Aliciahelene

Im just seeing this post for the first time...UGH>>I wish I got to see that show!!!! I was in a night class
Hopefully I can find someone who taped it..I am ona chatboard for people adopting through our agency..so I may find someone on there who taped it!
Ive heard its very beautiful! I will let you all know in a few months..when I am there! I am going to take a zillion pictures!!! I have also heard that they are wonderful people. It is sad that our boys lost their parents. It breaks my heart. On Biruks file it says he misses parental love and Paulos' file it says he misses his family. It just rips my heart out, that these sweet children at sucha young age pray for something that I took for granted as achild..I had a family..didnt even THINK about losing them. Ugh..I get so upset. No child should have to pray for a family. On a good not, a lady contacted me the other day and said that she adopted Paulos' absolute best friend and that when she went to Ethiopia, Paulos stole her heart and she is so happy to see him find afamily. She sent me more pictures of him, so that made my day!
