HI Everyone!! I just keep noticing more and more 10-12-03 brides on here and wanted to see who we all are and where everyone is with there planning. I didn't think a sunday in Oct. would be such a popular day. Any reason you picked that day??
It was my grandmother's ( who I was named after)birthday. She passed away 7 years ago.
This is what I have done so far: All my vendors are booked (Yahoo!! Oh except hairstylists), order BM and my dress next Sat, just finished pre-cana ( just have final mass to go to in March), picked up invites 2 weeks ago, picked out tuxes, ordered favors and registered at fortunoff's, bed, bath & beyond and kohl's...I think that's it. So now we can relax for alittle while. By the way my name is Nancy

I'm not a 10/12 bride (my birthday is 10/11 so NO WAY!!) but I'm just going to suggest that maybe there are so many of you b/c most people have of Columbus Day, which is the next day...

Actually most people don't have off the next day. At least nobody in either of our families does . It seems only if you work at a bank or for the goverment you would have off. I don't think alot of normal business give off for that day but thank you for the suggestion.

Hi!!! As you already know 10/12/03 is my wedding day as well. We picked it first, because columbus day was the next day and although not everyone has off... a number of people do and schools are closed etc. Also, I really wanted a fall day for my wedding and September has been so hot the past few years...the first weekend in Oct. 2003 is yom kippur and alot of my friends are jewish so that was out...so we ended up with 10/12!!!! Also, it was kind of fate for us because when we first looked at Oheka 10/12 was booked then we were originally getting married on 9/21/03 at the NYBG but then we had a change of heart and called oheka and they were like...the wedding we had for 10/12 fell through so if you want the date its yours! I felt like it was a sign from god I just hope it is sunny and a beautiful fall day

Woohoo..I am a 10-12 girl too..We picked the day because, for starters it was open and sun was more affordalbe. We love the fall time...Also we are getting married there so on sunday there is only one wedding so we can pick our start time etc...we liked the flexibility with that. Then when we started planning we thought it worked out nicely because we have a lot of people traveling from far away and we are having it out on the north fork so we thought it might be a fun way to have people togteher for a long weekend..Not everyone has off but most people seem to be making it a long weekend anyway.. I am also praying for a nice sunny fall day!

We picked 10/12/03 because that was the only day they had left in October, and I always loved Oct. The only vendor we have left is limos (any ideas)

I picked October 12, 2003 becasue it was the only day in septemebr and october that villa lombardis' had. But i think ti is popular becasue it is a day before a holiday. Even thought everyone doesn't have off, banks are closed as well as schools, so it made me feel better for having a sunday night wedding.
I got my wedding gown, the bridesmaids ordered their gown and we have our DJ. We got a dress for the Jr. BM and we have ot order the FG dress. We registered at Mikasa and JCPenney. I picked out my favors, but have not ordered them yet. Hopefully we will be booking the photographer this weekend and i have my BP gifts. (I know I don't do things in the right order.)
Next week we are meeting with a videographer and probably for flowers. And I keep forgeting that we need someone to marry us! We should really move that up on the list.

I forgot schools would be closed too!!
Nikki- did you try Royalty Limos?? We went with them because they gave us the best price and felt comfortable they owned so many cars (especially rolls royces). Alot of companies either rent out the rolls or only have a couple. We have also heard mostly good things on the board about them. They seemed to work with us.

Hey ladies..I am way behind =) I am finishing my masters and working so unfortunately the wedding gets back burnered alot....We are getting married at Vineyard Caterers. So far we have the place, officiant, photographer, dj, quartet (this weekend), hotel blocked, save the dates out and honeymoon booked. I am close to my dress and the girls but have not ordered them yet...We are registering at Crate tommorow...very romantic I know but we thought it would be fun! Another plus about this weekend I thought was that for future annivesaries you can take advantage of columbus day and go away even if the date is not on it!
What time does your wedding start? Where are you honeymooning? We are doing Hawaii...can't wait..beach and sun here I come...maybe if others are there too we will meet!

My wedding starts at 5:30, but we are taking pictures before, so we won't miss our cocktail hour or the reception taking pictures. I am paying good money, and I want to be at both.
We are also honeymoning in Hawaii, five nights in Maui and 5 nights in Kauaii, both at the Sheraton. I can't wait to go!!!
I am also going for my masters and working and i have to work o/t because of tax season, so the wedding work seems to get put aside too. Even though though I fell like any free time is spent on the wedding.
Slowly but surely I am making progress, even though my mom wishes I would be making more!

Hi I'm a 10-12 bride too :)
so far I have the reception hall, officiant, std's, hotels blocked, photo/video, dj, decided on florist, going to order invites on Monday, booked honeymoon, ordered my dress and bridesmaids dresses, decided on flowergirl dress just have to order it. I'm working on the favors right now. I've gotten some of the bp gifts. I think that's all. I think we're going to look for limos next month.

shelzpy - how funny..i feel the same way..people always want to know what is done..tell me more..and I am like..ahhh working on it..let me get back to you =)! It will all get done before the big day! You guys are inspiring me..I am making some appts. It was 8 months yesterday!

In the beginning I was on a roll, We were engaged on Jan 1st, by Jan 5th I had booked Villa's. By the 10th I knew what dress I wanted and by the 12th I had it ordered. Then it all came to a standstill, since I started looking t phtotgrapher, after photographer, after photographer. So hopefully it will pick up again.
