I am the MOH in a wedding in March and looking to have her shower in January in the city. Any ideas for places that are nice but not completely ridiculously expensive?
Thanks in advance!!!!

Re: All My NYC Girls....
Where are you looking? What town/boro?
Recommendations: Queens: Abbracciamentos on Woodhaven Blvd, Rego Park. Prima Pasta on Cross Bay Blvd, Howard Beach.
Nassau: Holiday Inn WEstbury, Old Country Rd, Westbury/Carle Place (right across from Fortunoffs)
That's all I can think of right now that I have been to. -Jill

Re: All My NYC Girls....
The other girls really want to do it in Manhattan, so anything there would be great. I am going to try the Queen's places listed. Thanks

Re: All My NYC Girls....
What kind of prices are you looking at?? And what area?? How many people? Are you talking private room- or just large table.
ETA; Also what time of yeat-- some places to parties in their gardens
My shower is going to be at Lady Mendl's.. I think it is $50pp, you can just go to high tea there- they have several rooms to accommodate 50- and smaller parties like 10 to 12.

I really like the Metropolitan grill between 53rd and 54th on 1st Ave. It really large, has an outdoor area, atrium, and large indoor area. The prices are very reasonable for affairs and they don't charge you a site fee.

My office just had a shower for me at the bar below Marseille on 44th St & 9th Ave. It was a super cute space with a Morrocan theme. The owner was really nice. I would highly recommend.
You might also check out Angus McIndoe's on 44th between 7th & 8th Ave. Cocktail parties there run about $35/person including tax and tip. It's the best deal in Times Square.

Re: All My NYC Girls....
We had our engament party at Il Cortile in Little Italy. it was expensive though ($80 a head) but my FMIL went all out with an obscene amount of food and a full open bar. It was also a Saturday evening so maybe you could do better during the day. Anyway the room was beautiful and the food was out of this world. Everyone still raves about it and it was over a year ago. I recommend checking it out.

I went to a shower at this place. I have no idea how much it cost, but it was a cute location for a shower. We had lunch in the back room.
