Allegria Hotel?

Hi ladies,

I am not having a good experience choosing a venue (Chateau Briand was my first choice, and they are less than impressive with communication ). In searching the forums, I discovered Allegria Hotel, but I have read some pretty terrible reviews, both for the hotel and for weddings.

Has anyone been there recently, post-Hurricane Sandy? Any price quotes? We're looking at Friday night for our ceremony and reception.

Thx!

Allegria Hotel? - Long Island Weddings

I live a few blocks away and it has been all fixed since the hurricane and the boardwalk in front of it is done too, so it looks beautiful again. I called for a quote for March 2014 and it was $165 plus tax and gratuity, it was out of my budget so I passed. I heard they recently got a new chef and the food was just ok, the prior chef was good I have eaten there many times. I ended up choosing Bridgeview in Island Park, it is absolutely gorgeous, the price was right and I have heard nothing but stellar reviews about it.

Allegria Hotel? - Long Island Weddings

I had a great experience with the Allegria. We checked there when we were looking at venues but they were not large enough to accommodate our party. We loved the space though and at that time they had their old chef so the food was great. When we decided to book at Bridgeview I knew I wanted to have my hotel block at the Allegria. After sandy I was worried what everything would be like for my march wedding but thankfully everything but the boardwalk was done in time. Planning was a breeze with them and everything went smoothly for myself and my guests. I stayed 2 nights and they upgraded my suite. All early check ins, late check outs, and other misc requests were honored as discussed. Welcome bags were handed out and they helped guests with the shuttle we were providing. They took really good care of us including sending champagne and chocolate covered strawberries to our suite at the end of the night so we had a nice surprise to come home to. They definitely treated me well and made me feel special so i can ony assume they do at least that much if not more for brides hosting weddings there. Overall I had no issues and definitely recommend.
