ALMOST FELL OF MY CHAIR

Original post by robamanda

So it is way to early for me to price out honeymoons for 2013 so I was just curious and put in 10 days for July 2012 in Fiji the price popped up as . . .READY FOR THIS $33,000!!!!!

haha I guess Fiji is out . . I am starting to get a little nervous FH said I can plan everything except the honeymoon and his choice 2 weeks in Hawaii visiting two different islands we are marrying in July but are not taking our HM until December my company shuts down for 2 weeks paid so I wouldnt have to use any vacay days I am starting to get nervous about those prices

$33,000?! Wow that is nuts! I was thinking about Turks and Caicos, but $8,000 is too much.

I also want to create a honeymoon registry. We have a house and have been living together for 2 years so I really do have everything we need. I will do a small registry china etc and also a honeymoon registry with the hopes that people will be generous haha.

I would never ever in my right mind book that I thought it was going to be a lot cheaper ha-ha.

I am even thinking of not getting the honeymoon extra’s. FH bought up a good point would you rather have the extra’s and only stay half the time or omit the extras and be able to stay longer. And ughh lol I hate saying this he is absolutely right. I would prefer to stay longer.

we want over the water huts too thats why we looked into bora bora but I'm not a fan of flying and 14 hours is just way too long. I heard 9 beaches is undergoing a 3 million dollar renovation so by the time it reopens in 2013 it will be brand new. hope it's not crazy expensive

well if you think about it and book it a year out ..u will be getting 2012 prices and not 2013 so it would be better b/c if the prices go up u dont have to pay it LOL..so its better to book early

Make sure you research the weather in Hawaii in December. My ex's sister went there on her honeymoon in January and she came back complaining the weather wasnt great during that time of year. I would hate to see someone spend all that money and it wasn't what you expected!

LOL!!! That's like the cost of a wedding right there!! I thought I was the only one looking for honeymoon stuff- FH and I went to a travel agent looking for prices. We were quoted 8k for a week in Turks and Caicos, which is crazy to me! I think we are going to create a honeymoon registry to pay for this nonsense.

I heard that December is the rainy season. You should really try not to go to Hawaii then. Well, if my FSI is correct that is.

I cant believe the price of that trip, I dont think I am budgeting anywhere near what a honeymoon is going to cost. For those of you interested in Turks and Caicos I went last year in February and I think we paid about $2,500 each. We stayed at Club Med which isnt the most updated but they have one of the best spots on the beach, it was great.

I am thinking of doing two weeks in Hawaii and my FH always wanted to do a bungalow thing so maybe we can do St. Lucia for the first anniversary. I really didnt want to go the Carribean for our honeymoon because I wanted something that was kind of out of our range for a typical vacation for our HM
