So my church calls me to REMIND me that I will have 2 alter servers at my wedding (which I did not request) and we have to tip them $20 each so they will keep coming back. I honestly think the alter servers should be optional not standard. I feel the church has asked for enough, $500 DONATION, I love how it's called a donation and yet they tell you how much to give and $200 for the organist. I know $40 is really not a lot of money but with all the others we have to tip that day, it's just another $40 going toward something unnecessary. Are you all tipping $20 each and is your church making you have alter servers?
We are NOT having alter servers our priest actully perfers it this way.
I am also annoyed by all the 'donations' that you are required to pay. They are taking advantage of this whole wedding as a business industry, which I think is wrong. I don't think it is cool for them to dictate what you should give to the alter servers! You should be able to give whatever you want.
