am i annoying?!?!

so how many of you have things booked for your '07 wedding??

i'm getting married next labor day weekend. it's a very popular weekend and i found that a lot of halls, photographers and even make-up artists were booked. so far, i booked my church my hall and my limo. i've been shopping for dresses but haven't found 'the one'.

so okay, my point here is that people are like telling me that i'm planning way too early and that i need to relax. and i'm stressing out for no reason. but like i'm not even stressing out. it is so much fun doing all this stuff. some girl at work even said i was annoying her with all my wedding stuff.

is anyone else getting hated on?? please say yes, all us brides-to-be should be happy. not miserable like our co-workers!!

Don't worry, I am sure everyone here can relate. I have been told that I was doing things too fast by many people, but then again these are people who are not engaged or got married 10 years ago. When you plan a wedding on LI or NY for that matter, it seems like everyone does things so far in advance so you can A: Get the vendors you want and B: Lock in the prices now.

I have been to places that had 08 booked already. You have to remember that so many people get engaged and leave deposits at places and then pay the wedding off for the next 2-years.

You are not rushing things. Just take your time picking the right vendors, but I would try to lock in the major ones now.

To the rest of the non bridal world you are probably annoying, but you are in no way annoying to us. We are all annoying to the non bridal world right now. That's why we post/vent/ask questions on these boards. Don't worry sweetie, you will get used to it. Don't listen to anyone and do everything at your own pace. We are here for you

Focus on booking your major vendors first (RH/church or officiant/band or dj/photographer). It seems overwhelming at first and everyone will have their comments but I promise you it will all fall into place.

i totally receive comments on both sides of the spectrum. I have people saying 'oh my god, why are you doing all of this now? its not till next year, i planned my wedding in 5 months, blah blah' and then I get people saying 'you dont have your dress yet?? what are you thiking?'

The fact of the matter is, do it at your own pace. I am sure tons of people have planed weddings in 3 months, but I simply wouldnt want to do it that fast. I have enjoyed doing it leisurely and basically tackling a major task each month. That is why I chose to have a longer engagement.

AND.....the fact that you are having it on a holiday weekend justifies you doing things ahead of schedule even more! I think it would be foolish of you not to plan ahead for that particular weekend.

i have my hall, church, photo/video, limos, flowers and going to book my hair, makeup and get my dress in july. and my honeymoon in aug.

im doing as much as i can now bc we are in the process of buying a house and gutting it out...so i know once we start working on the hosue i will have less time to plan the wedding..plus i dont want to be running around the last two months going crazy....

I HATE when people tell me that im stressing... my wedding does not stress me... my wedding planning is the only thing that i do that helps me relieve some stress. THEY stress me when they tell me that!
Ur right....people are just haters

ETA: that i dont speak about wedding things to anyone other than my FH and you girls... ONLY if they ask I will tell. So why people think im stressing is beyond me

I totally understand date twin I hear that ALL the time BUT every time I try to plan the next thing on my list tons of vendors that I call are booked up which is why I continue doing things so early! We have no choice but to book everything really early

you guys are sooo sweet. like i know we are all excited and anxious but we just want to be organized and in check. like sometimes i'm hesitant to book things b/c i think it's too soon.

so whatever, i'm doing what i want and i'm not gonna talk to the non bridal world!!!

DONT WORRY!

I find that everyone always finds things to say .. no matter what. ALOT of my co-workers kept on asking me why I was having a long-engagement, and one of them sd I was stupid for not getting married in 2006!

Just do waht you feel comfortable with, and with what you feel is right, and dont listen to anyone. Its better off that you research and book vendors now, so that you can worry abt the small stuff later!

People have been telling me the same. But I am around a holiday as well.

If you are shopping around and not rushing that process you are fine, not to be a dork but in all the magazines it says major vendors should be booked 8-12 months before wedding!

You are so NOT annoying! You're planning a wedding and you're excited! And its nice to plan ahead of time so there's no added stress when it gets closer. I got engaged in July and started planning in January and definitely heard the comments...People are always going to question and make their comments (I guess it makes them feel better) but screw them. That's why these boards are so great...we're all going through pretty much the same thing and its nice to get some feedback, opinions, advice and ideas.

Yes, vendors do get booked, but please do not worry! There are a lot of vendors out there and I found that the ones that got booked first were not necessarily the best ones! Enjoy your planning!!

I absolutley HATE the 'oh, but your wedding is so far away.....it's over a year away' comments!!!! My response to it is, well I enjoy not having to rush around and settle for what's left. We're paying a lot of money for this and by planning early we get to pick what we want and not have a vendor tell us, 'sorry, but that's booked for your day'.

Phew......sorry.......had to get that off my chest because I've been hearing a lot of that lately for some reason!

I totally agree with everything D's Girl says. We had trouble booking our hall because some were booked into 09!!! I can't imagine a 3 year engagement! I did mostof the big stuff already just so that we don't have the same problem like we did with the hall.
Thankfully a lot of my co-workers are here all the time to so if I'm annoying then so are they! J/k, just have fun, make sure that you are 100% happy with the vendors you choose and ignore everyone else!

Don't pay any attention to them! If it's any consolation my own mother has told me in not so many words that I'm annoying, and I try not to say to much to her about the wedding! We can't help being excited! I'm pretty sure the large majority of us only plan on doing this once and we want to make it perfect! Right girls???
