am I being unreasonable? (long vent)

Ok , so here is the plan. Right after the wedding the bridal party will be going to the Long Island Museums in Stony Brook to take pictures for about an hour. Then head to the reception hall where we will take family pictures on the golf course, simple, easy.....OK, so now my mother is all concerned that the family pictures are going to be...oh, wait for it............too GREEN, yes, I said too green, as in too much grass and greenery, she thinks it will look stupid. She says 'I don't want to pay all this money and have our pictures look like crap.' First off, I should've have mentioned from the get go our photographer is Angelica Glass,so there is no way the pics are going to look horrible. I was like, MOM< I dont want a million people at one site taking pics all at once, it will be too much...I was finally like, whatever, come if you want, but I think that just made her upset, she didn't say anything else. Am I wrong? Why can't people just do what I ask? Now I know why they start filming Bridezillas a week before the wedding, cause I am definetley one right now.

hahah i think your plan is perfect. ESPECIALLY considering you have such a talented photographer. i think our parents generation has trouble understanding 'todays' wedding photography. years ago they spent hours after the ceremony posing with family members..... you dont want to regret your photo choices. once everyone calms, explain that you specifically chose a beautiful backdrop for family pics.... i hope it all works out.

when in doubt, photoshop her out. :)

they are YOUR pictures... and your photographer is a very well known, very talented photographer... if she thinks its too much grass, she'll figure it out.

Totally unrelated, the museum, huh? I am looking for a place to take pics if it rains, are you doing them inside, did you get a permit? Sorry, but I have never been there and if it was an inside location that is avaiable to the public then I think it would be a great idea. TIA

You are not wrong, and to be honest in My experiences, weddings sometimes take over the bodies of our loved ones and make them into crazy people. The only advice I have for you is maybe take one or two family pictures at the museum and continue on with your original plan. It is your wedding and these are your decisions to make.
Good luck, unfortunately I have had experience with some of the closest people tuning with their 'advice' which is usually a put down to what I am doing.
Do not let it bring you down, everything nwill be perfect in the end =)

I have never heard of such a thing. I would think that it was tradition that the Bridal Party was at the engagement party. Its your party invite who you want. Pretend like you are taking advice and then do your own thing lol.

I work at a facility that has a golf course where brides take pictures and I have never seen such beautiful pictures. The greenery makes the bride and the bridal party and everyone in the pictures stand out more!! Unless your colors are Grass Green i do not see a problem with it! The pictures will be amazing with the green!

I remember someone once told me 'Make you you get lots of green in your wedding pictures, green looks so mice in the pictures...'

AG will make your pictures hot.

Definitley go for it, explain to your mom that although you appreciate her concern you think the pictures will be beautiful and you want them for your special day. If you can try to take at least one family shot indoors so she doesnt feel like her opinion does not count.

don't give in to mom--do what you want. i'm sure AG will make some AMAZING pics. it sounds like your mom might be upset about something else and she is making a mountain out of a mole hill on this one. cause when it comes to weddings and disagreements--its NEVER about the topic at hand.

maybe she's upset that you chose the site without asking her opinion or something? either way, your idea sounds great, go with it!

I am having just the bridal party take pictures before our ceremony at OWG and then we are meeting up with family members at the Bourne to take the rest of our photos. I think your plan sounds perfect! You don't want a mob scene!

We are taking them outside, but if it rains, they have the carriage house to take pics in...The grounds are really very pretty, gardens, old barns and a schoolhouse, I just wanted something different then the Stony Brook green (I live there so EVERYONE and thier brother takes pics there)...I think they willl be beautiful!

LOL moms are too funny....your pictures will look gorgous. My friend had all her photos taken at Giorgios and they were beautiful. And i think it's nice you're doing two different locations because then ALL your photos will be in one spot with all the same scenery. And uuumm...angelica glass??? i DON'T think she's going to make anything look too green lol. just reassure her that they'll be beautiful - lol that's pretty much all u can do!

Thats so silly and totally something MY mother would say. Personally lol Im jealous! I WANT green but where we are getting married there is not much of it and I really wanted park photos but due to time we can't do it.

And angelic glass? LOL just show her the amazing work she does. That might help. Show her KittyTheStrays trash the dress shoot...MAZING stuff. Sometimes visuals are best.

I know your mom means well, just let it go and stick with your plan.

The photos will be beautiful. I am so excited to take our pics on a golf course.
