All of my coworkers who were engaged before me...are telling me that im insane for booking everything so early. They keep ragging on me and saying that im anal and crazy bc im gettin married next nov and already have my dress, limo, bm dresses, etc...to top it all off when i told them i was going for hair/makup trials this week, the flipped!! My point of view is, if I like someone, I'll book them now...y wait??? I don't want to chance them being booked already. They were telling me 'well what if those ppl go out of business by next year??'...as if im booking people out of the yellow pages!!! What are the chances of that happening?? Plus my bridal planner keeps telling me, the sooner u book the better...so now I'm torn...am I crazy? sorry it's so long!

Well, if you're crazy, so am I. We had everything booked 16 months in advance. I got my dress 13 months in advance. Soooooooo relaxing!!!!!!!!!

you are not crazy, they are just jealous that they had to run around like a chicken with their head cut off being stressed bc they waited till the last minute. Ignore them, it feels wonderful to not have to plan towards the end and enjoy just doing what you want to do and not wedding planning...

I completely agree! I had a few people including my FMIL, not just co-workers telling me 'wow, that's a little premature to do that', I said to them, 'no, you're wrong...i want my vendors and if they're gone by the time i wait for you to say, okay go ahead...then i'll be upset.' Go and have some fun while you're booking and then relax at the stuff that can wait!!!

I WANT to plan and book stuff, but everyone keeps telling me to wait and that it's too eary! I am so glad you are telling us you are almost done! I wasnt to be sitting pretty next summer with nothing but fittings and tastings left. I dont want to be stressed that things wont ome in on time or won't look right. If there are problems at least I will have time to fix them!

I dont think you're crazy. I didn't book things a year in advance but close to it. Its been nice to slowly cross things off my list instead of running around to do it all at once. Plus by doing things early you have more options. Dont worry what other people say, plan at your own pace

Not crazy AT ALL! I like to have everything planned out well in advance, in case any problems arise. I have everything booked 11 months in advance, and now we begin our payment arrangments.
Don't have my dress yet, kinda scared to order in case I see something in a Spring/Summer 07 line that I fall in love with.

My engagement had to be 2 years because everyone I wanted to use was already booked. So....when you find someone you love book them. Because if you wait, someone else will take them and you will want to cry. lol.

No crazy at all. im 10/07 wedding and i have my gown ordered last month(takes about 8 months to come in), photo/video booked, dj booked, limos booked, church booked , hall booked.
Me and my BM's are even browsing around for dresses.

you are def NOT crazy. never tell my mom I said this and if she hears it I will deny it BUT I wish I had started earlier like she told me to I feel rushed and one of my verders was booked. I started about 9 months before.

You're definitely NOT crazy! I got engaged about 2 months ago and already booked all of my vendors with the exception of photographer & videographer.......still on the search. Its totally wise to book early! that way you have the vendor of your dreams and not your worst nightmare!
Cheer up, doll! they're just jealous that you'll be chillin' with a cosmo, cool as a cucumber, not having to stress about a single thing!
