Thanks for the site. I wil def check into it. BTW - You mean the drinking water? Like Mexico?
Also - what is the surrounding area like - - outside of the hotel itself?

Re: Am I getting ripped off??
yes I meant the drinking water... there isnt much to see outside of the hotel but I dont think you will feel like going anywhere, the beaches are beautiful and there are a lot of water activities to do (go snorkeling, fishing etc)... personally, I just lay on the beach or at the pool and drink

Re: Am I getting ripped off??
We're paying that much for St. Lucia for 7 days. Try looking a all inclusives in mexico. I've always found good deals on packages on Yahoo travel.

Re: Am I getting ripped off??
We looked into St. Lucia Sandals for our HM and we were getting quoted about $7000 for 10 nights. We decided on Sandals Negril for 10 nights and are paying $5400. Plus we get the free luggage and crystal. OH BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Am I getting ripped off??
Depends on the room category and for how long. THe air is also a factor. I am sure it is around that price. Make sure it was not a DELUXE ROOM CATEGORY>>> THAT IS THE LOWEST!!!!!!
IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS< EMAIL ME>>>

Re: Am I getting ripped off??
MissM, try Beach Destinations. I just priced one week at an All-inclusive to St Lucia leaving 12/11 for a week, and the price came out to $4300.
It's definitely a legit site... a friend just returned yesterday from their trip to Punta Cana, at an AI spot, for $1600... for TWO!
Good luck!

Re: Am I getting ripped off??
WHEN BOOKING SANDALS*********
MAKE SURE YOU TELL THE TRAVEL AGENT EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT>... IF YOU WANT A SUITE, TELL THEM< CONCIERGE SERVICE TELL THEM, BALCONY, TELL THEM...
SOME AGENTS WILL JUST GIVE YOU THE CHEAPEST ROOM>>>> DON'T DO IT>>>
CHEAPEST ROOM AT SANDALS ST. LUCIA IS IN THE HILLS AND NOT EASLIY ACCESSIBLE.
ALSO, THE SANDALS GRANDE ST.LUCIA IS THE NEWEST ONE. THE REGENCY IS THE BIGGEST ( USED TO BE CALLED ST. LUCIA GOLF AND SPA) AND SANDALS HALYCON IS THE SMALLEST BUT THE MOST INTIMATE> LIKE A TRUE CARIBBEAN RESORT
ALSO, REMEMBER ONCE YOU GET THERE YOU PAY FOR NOTHING BESIDES YOUR TOURS, SPA TREATMENTS, PHONE CALLS AND ANYTHING YOU BUY.
SOMEONE GOING TO HAWAII OR SOME PLACE THAT IS NOT ALL INCLUSIVE CANNOT COMPARE> IT IS NOT APPLES TO APPLES>>>>
ANYMORE QUEST, LET ME KNOW>>>>> I USED TO WORK FOR SANDALS

Re: Am I getting ripped off??
Sandals are great, worry free and are a lot of fun. It depends on what your looking for. Tons of NY, NJ. BOSTON NEWLY WEDS go to Sandals St. Lucia for their Honeymoon. They have a WONDERFUL TIME. Many of my Best Friends went to The Regency( the Big One) and LOVED IT. They spent around $6000 for 7-9 nights. I love the regency for the activity, I am not crazy about their beach, but the pools are great and the staff including the General Manager is AMAZING!!!
The Sandals Grande is a little more refined and gives a better AHHH presence.... What I mean by that is.. The Views are amazing, the lobby is unbelievable and the restaurants are amazing. Especially barefoot by the sea. The property is a little quieter than the Regency, IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANT...
NOW, If you want to spend a little less money, The Secrets resorts in Cancun and Dominican Republic have been getting amazing reviews also the Royal Hideaway in Riviera Maya( Mexico). Or Couples Resorts in Jamaica
I think the #1 thing Brides have to watch out for is that if you want a Honeymoon to be a honeymoon, then go to a place that there are no Kids. It Makes a Difference. And A couples only resort is the best way to do it.
I think we are going to do either Secrets or Royal Hideaway, not because I hate sandals, it's because my fiance and I have been to all of them and we want something new to both of us. We both worked for sandals. Now I work for A Costa Cruise Lines...
Good luck, Again, if you need any help. You know where I am.

Re: Am I getting ripped off??
I was just there 2 weeks ago - we stayed at the Grande and paid about $5000, but we were originally quoted $6000 and then decided to go directly through Sandals.
I have updates on these reviews!

We stayed in the Golf and Spa. the Grande is beautiful. If I would to go back I would stay there. You have access to all 3. The shuttles run all the time. It's a 15 minute distance between them all.
*Book you resturants the first night, because they get booked quick. *Dinner Kimono's at the Golf and Spa is awesome *Mario's at The Hyatt was terrific! *LaToc at the Golf and Spa is okay. *Armando's at Golf and Spa is great. *Tuscanni's at the Grande is Great
Mario's is great! (And its at the Halcyon - but I probably spelled it wrong) Tuscanini's is good - but I wouldn't say great - we ate there twice. Everyone told me La Toc was really good and the service was excellent - but DH doesn't eat French food so I'm just going on what we were told by absolutely everyone last week.
No matter what happens - book your reservations the first night. We lost our luggage the first day so we were too bummed to do anything but get drunk and by the next day, we couldn't get a reservation! But I heard its good, but you get better Japanese at home. I still would have liked to try it though.
Good luck with your decision!

Re: Am I getting ripped off??
Thank you ladies! I heard that DR is 'shady' outside of the resort??
Anybody else know of all-inclusive WARM spots? I can't believe I didn't post earlier.
We are going right before Christmas to be back before. My travel agent tells me this is why it's so expensive.

Re: Am I getting ripped off??
Christmas is Expensive. That is when everyone with Kids and that is not celebrating Christmas goes away. The prices are usually 20% higher.
That is if you go to a regular hotel. If you go to a place that is couples only, you are not going to run into that problem.....
GOOD LUCK

SANDALS ANTIGUA IS ALWAYS CHEAPER THAN ST. LUCIA. YOU HAVE TO LOOK LOOK AT THE ROOM CATEGORY THAT YOU ARE BUYING>
