Am i going to regret not doing the Viennese hour?

Am i going to regret not doing the Viennese hour?

Lately I feel like just the wedding cake doesn't really 'cut it' anymore for dessert and that I should do the viennese hour. If you are doing it why did you decide to? You think its worth spending the $15 extra per person?

Honestly, I feel as if this was not important!! To me drinks were and I upgraded drinks and not dessert..

Everyone has something different they prefer.. If thats what u really want, then go for it!!

Remember its your wedding and you only get married once!!

It was really important for us, it was really all I wanted lol! I would see if you could negotiate the price, maybe see if they can do a mini one for a little cheaper, or see if they could do one without adding the extra hour, this might help with the price

We decided to do it because our families love it and they would feel like something was missing if we didn't do it. We also wanted it because it adds the extra hour on. I would def try and see if you can negotiate the price.

I love the viennese hour but IMO it is not worth it...there is already SOOOO much food happening that I'd be surprised if most people ate even the cake. I'd rather save the money for something else...plus I hate thinking about all the extra dessert that will not get eaten and will just be thrown out

They will eat so much at your CH, I think that price is VERY high per person, and not worth it if that is what they are charging.

We went with it and althought I am really excited about it, I feel like it was not all that worth it. That is a lot of money that we could have used for something else.

I think, with how much people eat at the actual CH and reception, a Viennese hour would be soooo much more food that no one will have room for haha. But that's JMO. I contemplated it but my hall offered a 'dessert tasting plate' for each person for an additional like 3 or so bucks pp. It gave everyone tartufo, canoli, chocolate covered strawberries, assorted pastries, cream puffs, etc. on top of wedding cake and I felt that was better than the full hour. Then again, if you want to extend it a full hour that's a different story and might be totally worth it.

IMO, I don't think it's worth it. By the time my fat @ss gets to the Viennese hour I can't fit any more food in my stomach, so I just look longingly at it all and drool all over myself. Our RH threw in the touch of viennese so there will be more than one dessert option, but not so much that we will feel like we are being wasteful.

I personally like viennese hour. But guests dont NEED it!
That said I will be having one.

Also, I HATE how some places make certain things 'extra' and package here and package there. Isn't the initial pp charge enough? Sorry... mini vent!

we did a 'tasting plate' with the wedding cake, a fruit tart and chocolate covered strawberry.

it was only about $3 a person

we were thinking about adding it up until the last week. We finally decided it isnt just the 15pp more it is the added HR for the DJ and the photog. and then it really wasnt worth it and not a single guest missed it. We had so much food by that point it wasnt necessary.

We're doing it but having a limited cocktail hour with just passed hors d'oeuvres, a cheese/bread and veggies/spreads station. We want people to really enjoy their dinner and if they are still hungry then they can have a ton of desserts. I've been to so many weddings that by the time dinner starts I am absolutely stuffed from cocktail hour and I didn't want this at mine. Plus dessert is my favorite part of the meal!

I loved having the Vinessee hour. I was able to negotitate it at the end. I only ended up paying $5 a person and I had the FULL. You should be able to do something as you get closer.

we are not doing one. we took out some stuff and added in just an ice cream bar ...along w/ the cake. everyone is gonna be SOOO stuffed anyway lol

I didn't want one. I feel like usually the Viennese hour people start drifting out and the wedding fizzles out rather then ending on top of a high note. But that is just my opinion based on my personal experience. And it costs a lot besides just the extra fee per head. If you want the party to keep going you have to pay the band for another hour, on top of everything else. Lands End has a dessert cart though, so I wasn't really worried about it.
