at the wedding? Just curious who else is doing this. I hope i'm not the only one I know a lot are doing adult reception only but that just wasn't an option for my and FH's family....i'm starting to get worried there's going to be crazy kids...

we have one 1.3 yr old girl (FH's niece)...my flower girl 5, her brother 3, FH's cousin 7, nephew 4(ring bearer) and then 2 other kids under 10...the rest of the kids are over 10 yrs

FH says that if anyone is running around I should just pick them up and go on with the ceremony (is he crazy!!!) he says, kids will be kids and we can't exclude our families. i LOVE him for thinking like this but still, its our wedding ..hmmmmm

We're inviting kids too...there arent all that many...some are first cousins, and I felt like I couldnt invite my very OOT cousins without inviting their kids too. I have no idea how many people will actually bring them though.

I am having a kids table as well. I'm inviting all the kids in my family, although there are not many. I'm not worried about any of that. Sometimes having kids at the reception will make it more interesting. They might keep the dance floor going all night etc....

we are having kids there is no way around it we have alot of OOTers and they have kids and some will not be able to find babysitters. I dont find they do anything for the atmosphere. I dont see the big deal in all honesty.

I love kids, dont get me wrong. But do to past episodes, i would prefer to have an adult wedding. I have 9 (soon to be 10) nieces and nephews who range from newborn (my SIL is pregnant now) - 17 years old. Most of them are in my wedding. But for those who are under 10, I am asking their mother (my SIL) to either 1) bring her mom to the reception to watch the kids or 2) talk them home early. For my cousins and Fh's cousins and other family members who have kids under 10, we are requesting that they do not bring their kids. At my sister's wedding 2 years ago, there were kids running and crying all over the place. And its not the kids I am worried about, its the parents. If the parents are up and dancing and drinking, then who is watching their kids? My poor grandmother had to watch my cousin at my sister's wedding because my aunt was too busy socializing to pay attention to him. So for the sake of everyone, I am having a no kids rule.

I think its just a preference thing.
