We didnt-half our family is here and half is in NY so we opted not to have one!

FH and I didn't have one either. Between bridal showers, rehearsal lunches, the wedding, etc, enough was enough. We were plenty busy planning things since we got engaged :)

I didn't have one either.... I would have liked one sure, but I think it can look a little 'greedy' and I tihnk that's why my parents didn't do one. We will be getting a shower gift and generous wedding gifts... a 3rd gift is lot to ask of people. But, I am hoping to throw a little celebratory BBQ with my friends and FH's friends over the summer.

You are not the only one....We did not have one...
And we still received gifts after we sent out engagement announcements....But only from my family....Didn't even get cards from FH side at all!!!

I had one, but it was very traditional. The sole purpose was for the two families to meet. Not one person that wasn't family was included.

We are probably just going to have a small intimate BBQ sometime in the summer. Just to get the families together. Nothing big!

We were not going to have an engagement party, but since we knew that our engagement would be long, we decided to have something a few months after he proposed. Some couples that i know just had a dinner at a restuarant with close friends and family.

Nope, didn't have one and it's not a thing to do in my family.

I always looked at them as kind of pretentious, no offense to anyone who is into that kind of thing. I just don't see the point of asking for gifts 3 times for basically the same thing. (engagement, shower, wedding)

We didn't...I had en engagement party with about 25 people (just immediate family) I didn't want a party..I chose a Bridal shower intead (I got a choicre of one over the other)
