I just read this whole thread and I am dying laughing here......

As for me i love using abbreviations.... and i use them all the time...I sometimes forget that the ?real world? does not go by LIW lingo?. I was talking to a band the other day and my mind drew a blank and for the life of me I could not remember the word fiancée, so I said ?oh my future husband? The lady on the phone must have thought I was nuts!!! I find myself having to think twice b/c I slip and say FH?.

Who CAN'T STAND the LI Weddings lingo? I'm sorry but I REFUSE to call my bridesmaids BMs or Save the dates STDs!!! I will not refer to my fiance as a DH or an FH or abbreviate 'bouquet' as boK!!!!!! I just think it's so ridiculously corny. Is there anyone with me out there?

It's fine with us I'm sure...AND even if you can't spell, it doesn't matter, we'll still love you!

You are new here, and we want everyone to have fun, but when you have 5 post when you first wrote this post and then bashed your own friends for using STD, BM, or other lingo then it comes off rude to Brides on this site too. Calling out some people for having 20,000 post is silly saying that they should have time for the full word- There are in fact lots of people who spend time on here and enjoy it. Maybe before you come off making fun of a site you are new to, sit back and enjoy it, instead of making comments that are unwelcoming.

Honestly, I agree with Kim. I compare it to going into someones house that you've never met before and criticizing the way things are done, how their furniture looks or how they speak. If you were looking for common ground, we are all brides, talk about weddings. IMO, finding common ground is not about bashing the things you see all around you, it's about finding common interest because let's face it starting your LIW career by bashing something that's very present here is not a good move.

is this personally to me? well i dont know who else you would be talking to about 20,000 posts...Did you not read what i said, im at work and sometimes i have to write a post quickly so yes it helps, but i dont need to explain to you why i or anybody else does it. We join the site and when we come on here everybody is using chat lingo, and it kinda grows on you when you see post after post after post being abbreviated and by habit you just end up doing it.

People are being overprotective bc for one you are saying its annoying which basically is saying we are annoying...You just joined and people dont really know you yet and one of your first posts is to say we're annoying I dont know but i have bigger problems in life to worry about such minor problems. Guess what there will be ALOT of things ppl do and say on these boards that will annoy you, its called a message board and with so many people on here you can't let little things like this bother you

And when you need help with things it will be us 'ANNOYING' people that you will ask
