It can take a minute to change. It shouldnt take too long though. Just keep reloading the page. Thats what I do. It usually takes me 3 reloads.

Like I said- I'm not bashing anyone... LI Weddings is great- and I didn't realize people would take it so personally.

I honestly thought I'd have more girls out there who agree with me- and I'm sure there are plenty but they're probably not the ones posting a lot.

I do understand how it's become a cult/secret language among some of you. I get it- it's cool... just not me.

But saying you don't have enough time to type something is silly- if u have time to write 20,000 posts- you have time to write the full word 'bridesmaid' or 'fiance' which probably takes a millisecond longer to type out!!! =)

Wait a minute Way to back pedal- Your OP (origional post) was not so nice, when I first was reading it. You are new here, and we want everyone to have fun, but when you have 5 post when you first wrote this post and then bashed your own friends for using STD, BM, or other lingo then it comes off rude to Brides on this site too. Calling out some people for having 20,000 post is silly saying that they should have time for the full word- There are in fact lots of people who spend time on here and enjoy it. Maybe before you come off making fun of a site you are new to, sit back and enjoy it, instead of making comments that are unwelcoming.

I find it it kind of funny that abbreviations are becoming such hot topic for debate. It's abbreviations for goodness sake!!!! I use them daily at work although BM does actually stand for bowel movement at work lol. Just had to get that one out.

If you don't like the abbreviations then type out the words. Most posters use them so you will still have to read them.

After reading this thread I think it's safe to say some people wouldn't want to be BOTW JMHO

is this personally to me? well i dont know who else you would be talking to about 20,000 posts...Did you not read what i said, im at work and sometimes i have to write a post quickly so yes it helps, but i dont need to explain to you why i or anybody else does it. We join the site and when we come on here everybody is using chat lingo, and it kinda grows on you when you see post after post after post being abbreviated and by habit you just end up doing it.

People are being overprotective bc for one you are saying its annoying which basically is saying we are annoying...You just joined and people dont really know you yet and one of your first posts is to say we're annoying I dont know but i have bigger problems in life to worry about such minor problems. Guess what there will be ALOT of things ppl do and say on these boards that will annoy you, its called a message board and with so many people on here you can't let little things like this bother you

And when you need help with things it will be us 'ANNOYING' people that you will ask
