am i the only one?

Original post by Espo22

That just wants to get away from everything right now lol...with the wedding, personal issues, and just so many other things i feel worn out...its sad bc i remember this time last year and it was so different and great, we were engaged a few months and barely started planning and this week last year we went away and had a great trip and there were no problems at all. I go to bed late bc i have a million things on my mind, wake up early for work-tired all day and have so many things on my to do list that i have a hard time getting to I would give anything to go back in time one year ago lol

I made plans for after work to meet friends for happy hour and cant wait

I feel you 100%!!!

There are so many horrible things going on around me, and its been like this for the past year..and its REALLY taking it's toll on me. I feel like I am in such a rut! And seriously, I can't find my way out!

On Sunday I woke up crying, and cried my eyes out for like an hour. I just feel like there is sooo much pressure inside of me. It felt good, but it also hurt to cry. I remember being so strong, and lately I just feel so weak.

I know the worse thing to do is ignore friends, especially because I need them so much right now but at the same time I feel so torn! Like you said, I don't want to call them up just to complain, and half the time..I really don't feel like talking about any of it, I want to escape it all. I don't want to be a burden and I don't want them to worry about me. Plus, they are all going through so much themselves, which also weighs a lot on my mind. Sometimes I wish I was a better friend, but I sometimes feel I don't have the strength to be. At the same time, I wish I had the type of friends who would realize what I was going through and MAKE me go out. But, like I said they're also going through their own stuff, and they probably don't have the strength either.

I've been to so many funerals over the past few years. My brother goes to 2-3 Dr. appointments a week (he has MS, IBS and Barretts), He's been taking so many tests lately...it's so hard to go thorugh, and see him go through. And my mother is a wreck!! I have a very sick friend who is pregnant so it's a scary pregnancy...and thats just the tip of the iceberg. More than anything I wish that everyone was healthy!!

Then there's the smaller problems, I can't find a job close to me (I have panic attacks on trains and buses by myself so it makes it so difficult trying to find a job!), which leads into money problems. I have no idea how we are going to afford this wedding when we are struggling to get through Christmas!! Then there just seems to be NO time. Even though I'm not working, all day I am CONSTANTLY busy!! I feel like I have to rush through everything I'm doing because there's just not enough time during the day...and then I have insomnia at nite, and the next day I am sooo tired all over again. It's a vicious cycle!!

I feel like, I just want to be the 'old' me..I had so much strength, and everyone was healthy, there were things to look foward to..etc..

I am obsessed with make-up too and looking cute/being girlie!! Now I feel like its a chore to put make-up on...ugh!!

Ahh.. I need to stop here...lolz. This post is getting out of control..I just keep typing. I swear I wrote all of this in like 3minutes..I just let it all out lolz..sorry!! But, thanks for letting me vent - and not feel so alone with this!!!

::hugsssss:: to everyone having a hard time. It'll get better!! At least thats what I keep telling myself!!

I am so sorry, they say the only way to go from down is up so lets remember that this too shall pass, maybe it means LOTS of good things coming our way...i am soooo sorry about your brother and your friend and pray for their well being

I really hope things get better for you...hopefully the end of 07 will mean the end of problems for all of us and we can all have an amazing 08-it is o ur D*mn year so we better have a great year

Thank you Denise!

You are always so kind and supportive!! I don't think you give yourself enough credit! You really are such a sweet person, always trying to help even when your going through your own crazie-ness!! If I could, I'd buy you your happy hour drink!!! hehe!

I keep hoping that something will happen and it'll turn eveything around. I focus on the wedding as the one REALLY good thing that is happening. But, like others said, there's also a ton of stress that comes along with the planning.

Maybe after your drink tonite, you'll be able to unwind a little and take the edge off, and hopefully it's a start to better times ahead!

thank you so much, so sweet of you to say. Sometimes being too nice isn't the best thing lol.

Ill have a drink for you hahaha...well lets just look forward to 08 and hope we have an amazing year

I hope 2008 is a great year. I've had enough stuff go on this year that I'm ready for it to be over. The best thing that happened this year was I got engaged.

You are not the only one...

Every since last Thursday I've had hives that have been coming and going. I thought it was the BC I was taking and my gyno told me to stop immediately. I had to leave work in the middle of the day on Thursday. Then Monday they came back after being gone all weekend. I had to get up in the middle of class at law school and leave. I went to my GP and he pretty much said he didn't know and to take benadryl. I went home and took it and they went away. This morning I went into work and after being there an hour I realized my entire body had hives again, and this time worse than everytime before that. I didn't even tell my boss, I just got up and left and went straight to the ER. At the ER they said it definitely is not MRSA (that flesh eating bacteria going around) but that they weren't convinced it was an allergic reaction either. They said it could be, or it could be a viral infection. They gave me steroids and sent me home.

I also had a callback interview today, that I had to cancel because of this.

All of this on top of work, school, trying to decide which job to take for post-grad...I feel like I am slowly but surely losing it.

that kept happening to me - they couldnt figure out what it was - it kept happening on and off for months........it ended up being a reaction to Pepto Bismol....i used to be able to take it and nothing happened but now if I take it I get hives all over my body.....its really weird, i guess i just developed an allergy to something in it.....it took months and months to figure out it was from Pepto....i have a bad stomach and used to live on the stuff....

How did you figure it out? Did you go to an allergist or did you just realize it by process of elimination? I don't know what I should do. FH is nervous that I'm going to lose it, he is telling me to throw out all of our soaps and detergents and he'll go to the store and get new ones.

i ended up in the ER twice with this rash..... then it happened again so we went to the regular doctor and then it happened again so we went to an allergist.....none of them could figure it out......i guess because when they kept asking if i was using anything different or eating anything different i said NO....because i wasnt doing anything different and the only medication i was taking was birth control

then i stopped taking the pill b/c i was convinced it had to be the pill even though all the doctors said the pill wouldnt give that kind of reaction.....

so when i stopped taking the pill the rashes stopped....so we thought we figured it out that it was from birth control....but it turns out that when i stopped the bill, i stopped getting nausea and stopped taking pepto bismol.....

then one day i had a stomach ache, took pepto and woke up with the same exact rash.....

so after the rash was gone my mom said that i should just take Pepto again to be sure.... so i took pepto bismol and guess what.... i got the rash again!! so i figured it out NOT the doctors!! its been a few years and i never took pepto again and never got a rash again!

Wow, that sounds SO similar to what's going on with me. The benadryl does make it go away and then it comes back!!!

The two main things I can think of that I am usually doing when it comes back are a) i just showered and b) i am wearing clothing from the dry cleaner.

On Monday when it came back it was MUCH less severe than today or last Thursday and that's the only day my clothes were all machine washable/not dry cleaned. But, obviously I showered that day. I am totally chucking every single thing in the f-ing shower.

Other than that, I am using new dematological products (retin A and duac) but they said those are not it b/c they are topical and they are only used on my face and the hives are now everywhere BUT my face. Although, as soon as I stopped the birth control, all of my pimples went away!

Hey I just checked this out on WebMD - it says something to the effect that if you have had chicken pox, you cannot get shingles. Any idea about that part of it? I already had chicken pox. I'm trying to read more about it...

ETA: Never mind, I looked it up somewhere else and I understand it now. If you have had chicken pox, it stays dormant and can come back as shingles when you're older.

well my sis did have chicken pox ...I know that...I don't want to scare you though...there are different stages of shingles....so def. talk to your dr. about it...don't read everything off the net...there are other stress related hives besides this one, maybe googling that would help narrow something down

personally I've never heard of anyone getting a rash due to BC...not that it's not possible, but i always like to get a second opinion

exactly...it stays dormant in your system and never really goes away...what type of insurance do you have...maybe some of us can recommend a dr. for you...you may need to go to an allergist/specialist

Hey thanks for the advice.

Rash is actually a listed common side effect of my BC (Loestrin). It says it on the box and the website. I still don't know if that's what is causing this, but either way it's not an impossibility.

I looked at pics of the singles and they don't really look like what I have. Neither of the doctors mentioned it, but I will definitely ask when I go in again.
