Being cheap and using the place cards that the RH gave me with no holder?????

I bought cheap ones at Staples and printed on them and didnt use holders!!! You are not cheap! You dont 'have' to use holders!!! I've never been to a wedding where they had holders.

I didn't use a holder but I bought the cheap ones from michaels and printed them my handwriting is so bad otherwise I would have done the same as you!!!

I used the RH placecards...

I had holders - only b/c I bought them the month after we got engaged...

Thats a smart idea! I can't remember ever saving the place card or taking home a placecard holder at any wedding I've been to so don't worry about it! I think sometimes as the bride we worry about these little things that nobody else will even notice!!!

Buying a house and having a wedding all within 7 months of each other really makes you skimp where you can!!!

Like I said previously don't stress yourself over it most likely nobody will notice all the little things that your not doing, remember there all extras not neccessary at all!!

not at all!! its not being cheap, its just an expense that can be avoided.. i don't see a need to spend more on that.....

If my RH's didn't have a fox on them, I'd use them. I am not fond of a scary animal on my placecards.

My placecard holders are also my favors, though, and I figured they would do double duty!

that's exactly what we did. not cheap at all.

ETA: the only reason we bought ones to print on was because both DH and I have HORRIBLE handwriting, and we wanted to be sure our guests could read their place cars

My handwriting is horrible so I'll either do labels or print my own. I'm still on invites and can only focus on one annoying thing at a time.

Not at all. I would have used the RH ones too but I have terrible handwriting so I bought cheap ones at Michaels and printed them out. If you feel bad about using them you can always do that. Printing them out was really easy with the kit.

We used ones from Staples and my Grandmother wrote them out. No one said anything to us. It's not cheap at all!

UM, DEF not! I am using the place cards from our RH too, and no holders! The only thing I am doing is typing out the names and Table #s on white sticky labels and putting those over where it says 'Name' and 'Table #' on the card. I really could care less - those arent something I care to spend a fortune on! Don't even worry about it!
