Am I the only one...
...who doesn't plan to do e-pics?FH really doesn't want to do them, and he really doesn't have opinions on too much wedding related stuff. I thought it might be cute so we could use them for holiday cards next year, but to spend all that money on pics for holiday cards seems silly.
We already have our STD pics chosen, so we don't need it for those either.
The only thing I worry about is not being comfortable enough with our photographer the day of. But we already get along great with him, and felt comfortable with him. And we like unposed photos, so I'm not too worried about that either.
Any comments?

We LOVE our photographer but our engagement shoot was with our photojournalist which we had never met before.. It was a nice experience and the engagement photos were not that much money for over 100 photos! We were up in the air about it but ultimately decided that we should do it, even if it was just for us. We did end up using some photos for the STD which came out great but that wasn't the main reason for the photos. FH & I take photos all the time but have never had professional photos before so it is a nice keepsake.

I wasn't going to do them, but since our photographer includes them in our package, it was a no-brainer. We do want to take advantage to get more comfortable working with her and to maybe get a nice pic for our STD. But honestly, if we had to pay for it - i doubt we would do them.

I had zero intention on doing them. In fact I think they are cheesy (my personal opinion) BUTTTT my photographer is throwing them in for free so guess what, we are doing them. I dont know if I even will use a photo on my STD. The only reason why I like the idea is because my cousin (who was the groom) said he was so glad they did them because the got all the awkward stuff out of the way before the wedding. For example, like looking into each others eyes and not laughing. And they felt more comfortable the day of the wedding in front of the camera. If I had to pay for them, I would not be doing them.edited: spelling

I had no idea they existed until I read this forum. I had no idea what Save the Dates were either. So yeah, don't plan on doing either. We do awesome selfies together, so it's all good :D.

Our photographer is also throwing them in for free. They were pretty important to us since we love photography. The fact that she's throwing them in makes it even better.

I'm not doing an 'E' session per say, but even before we got engaged I wanted a nice shoot of FH and I in our glorious youth before kids and FT jobs and a mortgage. So this summer I'm having my cousin do some photos for us but nothing crazy

We get the e-shoot with our wedding photo package. We were planning to do one with my family friend who is trying to build her photo portfolio so we'll probably do both lol. We want them for our STD's and for christmas cards (because oh yeah. those will be going out this year now that we're living together and engaged. me, FH and the KRAKEN [our cat])

We weren't going to do them as a way to save money. My sister bought us a shoot for a christmas gift, and I couldn't be happier! I dont think they are necessary, but I must say there were some perks. Why I love them is because I like the idea of documenting FH and I at this particular age for our children to see. They aren't formal and posed like wedding pictures, so I love the idea of my kids seeing us as we typically are.A positive I did not see coming was the experience in front of a camera/photographer as a couple. We felt stupid at first! We were giggly. We definitely didnt know what poses looked right, which looked awkward. We didn't know what traits really mattered in a photographer. I used to think if they could click the button at the right time they were doing their job. It is so much more than that. We felt so much more educated on the topic so when we went shopping for photographers (ended up with someone different due to pricing) we had a much better grip on what we were looking for. To me, its like going to another wedding and seeing the DJ perform. You think 'I would kill my DJ if they played that song' or 'oh that was a great transition, I liked how they did that'. It was nice to have a trial in a way.

I wasn't planning on it because my photographer who is a family friend lives I'm Florida. But she's coming up here in July for a visit so I figured why not.

We aren't doing them either (FH was thrilled to hear I wasn't interested in doing that!). I just don't know when I would really even use them. They were included in the package from my photographer but since we didn't want them we just got a discounted rate.
This!

We're paying extra for our e-pics. Like everything else wedding related, I don't think they're necessary but I for some unknown reason, I NEEDED them lol

Ours were included too, FH wanted them more than me...I just wanted save the dates out ASAP since we are planning our wedding in less than a year, I wanted either an old photo from when we were both thinner or no photo :). Once we picked our photographer though, I am super excited for them and am glad to have the time to get to know him before the actual wedding day!!!!!

I'm on the fence with engagement pics, but if the photographer I end up booking throws it in..why not?! I think its a good idea to get comfortable with your photographer and all the possible pretty places to take pics at
