Am I the only one that feels like flowers are so expensive?

OK... I'm not asking for anything crazy, just roses and hydrangeas... I have 4 BM and 4 GM, approxiamately 14 tables, a place card table, and lobby table, my bouquet, and a dais... and I keep getting quotes from 2600 to 3000. Does this sound like a lot? Oh and no church arrangements.

What about putting all the bouquets on your dais and getting silk flowers for the lobby table & place card table?

I was thinking of doing this... but like I said, it's not really the prices I'm quoted, its just I feel like I'm not getting a ton of stuff. But every place is quoting me in the same ballpark, so maybe it's just me lol.

did u try 2 negotiate the price at all??? I was able 2 get the price down with every florist i visited except one.

Yeah, I'm gonna try and get some down when I narrow it down. But I already went to 5 and I have it down to 3, so atleast its a start.

u can prob get them down $200-$400. The highest i was quoted was $1600 & they came down to $1300. Florist know that flowers cost nothing so if they want your business they will come down.

I would definitely talk them down some on the price. Just tell them you were quoted $___ less for the same thing

it was a local florist...atlantic florist...but all the other LIW vendors did pedastals, flower michelle, etc.

I was quoted the same exact amount as you, and i took it and ran, some places wanted 4k and i have exactly what you are asking for!

I think that for just roses and hydrangea it is high. Roses are the most inexpensive flowers next to carnations and I can't see why they'd charge you so much for them. With only 4 people on both side of your BP it seems high. I'd look around....or at least talk them into giving you more expensive flowers at least you know?

Definitely check out Burtons. They had the best prices and they don't charge more for certain flowers. They charge only based on quantity!

I would suggest trying Burtons. I am getting all of my flowers (my BoK, 5 BM BoKs, flower girl basket, 9 boutonnieres, 4 corsages, 15 CPs, mantel arrangement, stair case decorations, all Mini Callas) for under 2K. I was quoted as high as 4k from other places for this and with cheaper flowers.
I didn't want to spend alot on flowers. I mean they will be dead before we leave for our HM. It just didn't make sense to me!

wow that is a lot. i got some pretty high quotes to but burton beat all of them. i am paying less than half! did you try them??? same price no matter what flower you get.

yea that's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY high!!! I'm paying the same for aLOT more flowers!!!!

hydrangeas are expensive (about $15 a stem), but still roses are cheap! comparatively anyway.

I would check LA Blossoms and VERBENA!!!!!! I highly recommend Verbena honestly...they do a beautiful job and are definately reasonable. Also LA Blossom does beautiful work and are VERY reasonable!
