Am I way behind?
One week from today, I will be getting married in SIX MONTHS! Getting nervous, as I still have SO much to do.My biggest concern at the moment is that I haven't ordered my bridesmaids' dresses yet. I *think* we know what we're going with. The three girls who tried it on all loved it. Two out-of-state girls agreed to it just based on pictures and the opinions of the other girls. The last two are insisting they must try it on (which I can understand) but then making excuses for why they can't go EVERY time I contact them to try to schedule something...
How far out did you order your BM dresses? Am I cutting it really close?
Also, for anyone with out-of-state BMs, how did you handle that? I want to order together if at ALL possible, as I've heard horror stories about dye lots not matching if they're not ordered together, but how do I do that? Do I just have those girls send their measurements to my salon and then mail them their dresses for alterations once they're in? Help!!

I told my girls to order it by next month for September. Davids Bridal said they will be able to get it in by May so I think you'll fine. I never thought about the color not matching...2 of my girls are out of state

Re: Am I way behind?
I ordered my BM dresses mid October and they are scheduled to be delivered end of March (5 months). This gives us two months leeway and if there are any problems, there will be enough time to correct it.Also it would be best to order the dresses together because of dye lot. It would be good to compare the dresses together and the only other time this would be possible is at your wedding (this would stress me out).
Good luck with the other girls. Since they live local they don't really have an excuse and you don't want to have the other girls pay extra for one or two slackers.

I just picked out my dresses last weekend (exactly at the 6 month mark) and they said that I have to order by the 20th to have them in time.

I ordered my bridesmaid dresses from Bridal Reflections in Massapequa end of January and are expected to be in by May. I was told that I had to order no later than March in order to have them come in on time. I think you'll be fine.

I am ordering from Bridal Reflections in Massapequa also. Oh and they said to have OOT girls call in their measurements and they will ship the dresses to them for free once they arrive.

Am I way behind?
We ordered our dresses end of August and they arrived mid-December. I got them through Wedding Salon in Manhasset and they told me they needed about 4 months so I think you are good. I had two out of town girls also. I asked my MOH, who is in Boston, to go to a local salon in Boston and try on the dress to see if she liked it. I actually did the same for an out of town friend's wedding, I went to a salon in NYC to try on the options and let her know what I thought.

I used davids bridal. They come in super quick. Not sure about other salons. If you are using db, you can definitely wait but I would do it soon from anyone else.

Re: Am I way behind?
You need 3-4 months for BM Dresses.I have a BM in Florida she went and got measured and called in her measurements to the store in NY.
They were ordered together, but turnes out because I have different style numbers they aren't from the same dye lot anyway. I wasn't aware of that. But I'm sure it'll be fine.

I'm having the same problem. I have 3 girls out of state so I'd better get moving with this. Most likely ordering from David's bridal so the out of state girls can get and try on thicknesses where they live and do their fittings there.

I'm actually ordering dresses for all out of town girls. The shop is online and they provided a little form. Most bridal shops measure girls out of town as a matter of courtesy, but some won't. They suggested going to a local tailor and having it done if needed.

Am I way behind?
I have one girl out of town. I finally got everyone together about 2 weeks ago today. My dress shop did let me know I was cutting it a bit close but she's great, she didn't give me attitude or rush us at all. My girlfriend in Arizona was on the phone with us. Each of my girls is wearing a different style (same designer, color, length and fabric). She chose the one from a few pictures I sent her and I actually tried it on in the store and sent her pictures. We're not even close to the same size but she said she loved it. I ordered hers with the rest of the dresses and when they come in in May (for my July wedding) the shop will send her dress to her to get altered in Arizona. I am a little bit nervouse about the dresses coming in May, but it just means they won't have a dress hanging in their closet for months. I will need to make sure they get in for their fittings and alterations, especially since my FSIL will be 8 months pregnant for my wedding and my friend (in AZ) is desperately trying to get pregnant. If you have any questions, just FM me.

Am I way behind?
My bridesmaids are wearing Bill Levkoff and the bridal salon told me that Bill Levkoff usually take the longest to come in. We are ordering this month for my September wedding. I'm wearing Bill Levkoff for my best friend's wedding and we ordered our dresses in October and they should come in early March. So, I'd just suggest ordering ASAP so the girls have time for alterations.Macy's did our measurements for my friend's wedding. I think Macy's is a good option for someone with Bridesmaids out of town because they can go to any local Macy's to get measured. The measurements are all given to whichever Macy's you're ordering from so the dresses can all be ordered together and will be cut from the same dye lot so they all match. Then Macy's will ship the dress to the girls' local Macy's for alterations. Good luck!!
