I think the other LIWer (drwho) was talking about her BM's (referring to them asking permission from her to get a hair cut).

I was JUST thinking same thing Helen ... she wasn't directing it at the OP, she was sharing what she told her BMs.

yea her reply (drwho) kind of made me laugh.....b/c it reminded me of when I told my sister a few months back not to cut her daughter's hair anymore before the wedding (she's one of my FG's)......b/c my sister was giving her haircuts at home and she was making her look like a little redneck child (really short bangs and uneven and the sides were just getting out of whack!!- hello mullet!!!) I told her I'd pay for salon haircuts rather than my sis take out those scissors again lol!!! now THAT was my bridezilla moment!!! but hey she's my niece, she's 3, she's adorable and anything BUT a redneck! I didn't want her to be tortured like me & my sis we look back at all our childhood pics and we look like little boys with our 'buster brown' haircuts

oh ok i'm sorry i do apologize, i thought she was talking to me. i guess im just too upset i'm reading in between the lines. my aunt just dropped out of the wedding party because of this (she's the most selfish person i've ever met. yes i know you're reading this and i dont give a f*k you were wrong) i'm devastated. i dont think anyone should be giving me crap or going against my wishes.. esp. not 2 weeks before my wedding. by me saying i wanna be the only person with my hair half up half down is NOT telling them how to do their hair. you say its a popular hairstyle for formal occassions. yeah. mostly the bride does that! hah. i dont think im asking for too much. everyone has their 1 thing they wanted for the wedding and wont budge with it. thats me with my hair.

you're right there are alot of things going on with my bridal party. they're all too cheap to do anything nice for my bachelorette party. they dont wanna leave the island. they wanted to have a house party for my bachelorette party. give me a break. anything that *I* (the bride) wanna do for the party, they tell me no they dont like that idea. im sorry i thought i had some say in this? this is supposed to be the most exciting best time of my life, and i just wanna skip the wedding right now and be married already.

So sorry you are going thru all of this w/ ur BP. I hope it gets better. There are some BP'slike me n DrWho that the girls ask to do anything, shoes, hair etc. ANd ones like yours who just wanna do for them. I asked my girls to wear their hair all up, they all said yes. @ girls are even growing their hair out to do so (I did not ask them to do that!) But thenI saw one BM with her hair 1/2 up one day and she looked so pretty I told them they could all do whatever they wanted! Ignore the drama and enjoy the next 2 weeks!

first of all...let me say this: it is YOUR day..if thats the way you want things to be..then SO BE IT!!!! its your wedding...nobody elses!

but, i dont htink it would be a big deal if one (or more ) of your bm's wore their hair half up... everyone will OBVIOUSLY know you are the bride. you will have the dress, the tiara(or whatever), the veil....if she wants to put a tiara in her hair then i'd draw the line. but i think itd be ok if she wore her hair in a similar style.

keep in mind, i am a lenient bride when it comes to my bm's... i didnt tell them how to wear their hair or what shoes to buy. (or even what color shoes) so maybe i am just laid back?

good luck with your decision!

Re: am i wrong??

I am so sorry you have to deal with all of this. Luckily i only had 2 of my 8 BM's that were a pain in the a** lol. but anyway, PLEASE do not feel wrong about telling them about their hair. i absolutely don't think you're being 'a bridezilla'....at some point, every bride has something they want or envision...and I don't think saying 'u can wear your hair anyway you like, just please don't wear it half up' is a huge deal. I was in a wedding party last year where EVERYONE had to have their hair in a french twist with curls...and none of us complained..it was what the bride wanted and we honored that. I told my girls they could have it anyway they wanted as long as it wasn't down & in their face. i don't get what the heck the big deal is to these girls lol...to me, there are a million hair styles out there...they can deal without having it half up and half down for a day to make u happy, and (jmo ladies - no one get mad), I think it's absolutely ridiculous for anyone to call u a bridezilla for something so simple that you're asking. During my wedding planning, I made the decision to IGNORE the drama. Let ur MOH or ur mom deal with it. Of course I respected my BM's...i did everything for them and tried to make sure they stayed happy. But when it came to petty little stuff(like this!), I just ignored it and they got over it. Dont' worry - it'll pass, ur wedding day will be so much fun...and one day when it's their day, they'll understand. Don't let it get you down!

Is the same person doing all of your hair? If so, he/she should know to make yours a bit more special/different than theirs. I do think you're worrying unnecessarily, though.

personally.. I don't like how it looks in pics when some girls have their hair down.. some up.. some 1/2 up 1/2 down.. I'm kinda anal and I'm into everyone having their hair done up.

My BP has had no issues with it luckily.. but I don't think it's that big of a deal if the bride asks you to get your hair done up.. but that's me.

Obviously there are a bunch of issues between you and your bridal party.. so I'm guessing this is just 1 of the ways they are trying to let you know they aren't happy.

Re: am i wrong??

I think it depends on the hair you are going for. I had mine half up and half down but I also had a hair piece at the back AND a jeweled thing at the top of my head.

I was a pretty lax bride and didn't care what the girls did. One of them had a nose ring and doesn't wear makeup but I didn't care. Another also did her hair half up and half down but there was no mistaking that my hair style was unique. If one of my BM's had the hair piece and a jeweled thing at the top it would have looked ridiculous because it was too much for a bridesmaid, you know?

Half up and half down has a huge range. Are you sure that they are going for exactly what you are doing?

I don't think I would care. I am having my hair up and so are my BM. If it was the same exact style I may mind a bit.
It is your day and if it is upsetting you just explain that to the girls.
