Hold your ground girl!! You are 100% right. Get a count of all of the children, multiply it by however much they charge for kids, then show your FMIL the amount. Tell her if she wants to pay the amount she is more then welcome, I'm sure that will shut her up... I believe in NO kids as well!

i dont think you are wrong, i was wondering the same thing when i got engaged if i should allow children at the wedding my niece and nephew and FH cousin has two kids and they live two hrs away so her kids will be there will be there for other people kidsi have asked people who have children ( my co-workers manly) they said they dont want there children there because they will not be able to enjoy the day , so i am not inviting them. just those four we have no other immeditaly family who has children so its easier for us! But if you dont want children there then you should not have them!

No. When I first got engaged, the best advice I got was from my friend and she said that you have to be a little selfish if you are going to survive wedding planning. Stick to your guns and say sorry but no. Its not FMIL's wedding, its you and FH's special day. Trust me, I'm going through similar crap everyday!

I may be late in answering to this but i do think you're wrong and selfish considering you yourself have a child. Your guests will have to figure out who will babysit their kids. You should have the courtesy to give your guests the CHOICE of bringing their kids. Yes it's your wedding and you're paying for it, but you could have just eloped, but if you're inviting guests (who WILL pay for their plate AND give you a little extra something) they should be able to bring their kids.

Re: Am i wrong?

well invitations are done and children are NOT invited!!!! Are you serious saying im selfish considering i have a child? I wld never bring my daughter to a wedding and wld never expect her to even be invited to one!!!! Children DO NOT belong at weddings especially saturday night ones that end at 1am!!! Im pretty sure 4months is plenty of time for them to find sitters for a few hours!!! Why shld my guests have the choice to bring their children if its not their wedding and they are not paying for it? Its not their choice its my FH and my choice not anyone elses!!!!!!!
