My friend almost did this to me until I interrupted her and said - Don't say it, it's a surprise!! I'm actually thinking to ask what the date is so I know I can be dressed and ready for it. Everything else there will be a surprise so although you're disappointed you still will be surprised and I'm sure you'll be overcome with emotion by all of the festivities.

but i will add, she was dumb for calling you and not the number on the invite.
I agree! I mean if it's not a surprise then the invite would come from you but if it came from your mom then to be safe, she should have called that number...but dont let that get to you - you will now look fabulous & trust me, there are plenty of other surprises - like the activities planned, who comes, & all the gifts! You will have a wonderful time!
She actually did call my mom who spoke to her, said she was sorry she couldn't make it, etc. and THEN she called me afterwards lol
I'm really looking forward to it...already registry stalking! And I'm having my hair blown out the morning of :)

Am I wrong?
Haha see! There are benefits to knowing when it is! I made my mom and MOH swear they'd tell me the date so I could make sure I got my hair done lol
