OMG!!! that is so tragic. I am watching the news on ch 26 as well. oh, when is this all going to end? This is really not a winnable war, basically another Vietnam. I am glad my FH came home when he did. He was in Iraq for 8 mths. I feel so bad for all the people that are still there and may I add that all those prisoners being abused by all those imbesils in Abu Ghraib is really not helping the situation!!!!!!

I can't even imagine how anyone with family there must feel. It is unbearable, all the pain for everyone, both sides, it's just terrible.

One of the women that works at the club, where I waitress occasionally, got a call on Mother's Day from her son...He is being sent to Iraq. I felt so bad for her. And all I can think is how bad this war is turning. We are so screwed right now it's not even funny. We can't seem to do anything right over there.

I understand that horrible things were going on in Iraq but it should have NOT been publicized now. Yes action should have been taken but this world did not have to know it just yet.

Ive actaully seen the video. I almost lost it. I am enraged at the people who did that. I feel AWFUL for the family of this man. I know we need to finish what we started but the sooner we have our troops home and we leave the wackos to fend for themselves the better off we will be! JMHO
Now I know the media has a 'responsibility' to make things public, telling all sides to a story BUT CBS should have used better discretion when deciding to air the pictures of the 'abused detainees' in the prision. They should have known the consequences for our troops while we are still there.
ALSO, IM FURIOUS that all the arabic stations and media outlets have downplayed the beheading of an american but got their panties shoved so far up their own heineys about prisioners being led around on leashes by a WOMAN.

And, who is to say the Iraqis are not doing that to our people in their prisons? They just don;t have the pictures to prove it..

To them, we (woman) are nothing. it is the ultimate shame to have a woman tell you what to do. I am outraged over the 'retaliation.' I was watching cnbc and they showed still photos of the young man's father, collapsing on his front lawn. the pain he feels, is that great. i agree, there will be no end to this.

it's making me sick....my brother is a marine and has already been over there twice and is set to go back over in september.....an dit's making me terribly nervous......i mean, he was over there twice, and came back safe already - how much longer will his luck hold out? it's really really freaking scary!!!

We can't imagine what its like. My FH is from Israel and while his sister was working at a store, someone stood outside and starting shooting inside the store in the name of Allah. I have so many other stories- I just went to a memorial for a friend whose brother while a soldier was kidnapped, missing for 7 months and then his body was found, in a very gruesome way. Scary to think this is just the way of life for some people.

Las tyear I worked in a school where a lot of the students' familes were from Iraq, Iran, etc.
When all of this started and my brother went over there, I was talking to them about it, and realized that some of them still have family over there...some of them lived over there for a period of their life....one girl had an uncle who was held hostage by Sadaam and escaped after beign tortured for a few months. When he came back he wrote a book about it, and she let me read part of the transcript. terrifying.....
it is such a scary place. i don't knoe if we should be over there or not, i don't know if this war is worth fighting, i dont' know who is right and who is wrong anymore. i just know that it is a truly truly scary time.
