I don't think it was a set up either. Stef makes a very good point about the FCC. Also, the judges looked genuinely shocked/mad, I would think they would know if it was a set up.

But Reuben wasn't voted off! So what law was broken? You know what I mean. I think they are just trying to get the numbers even higher.

Thoughts on Justin's new song? I thought it was 'Baby Face' and I liked it.

This is from one of my prego boards discussing this same issue:
The radio station I listen to here in Atlanta is pretty close with last years RJ Helton. He told them that in the contract that they sign w/FOX to be on the show that it states that the producers of the show are allowed to 'manipulate' the results for any reason at any time.

Josh definitely has the sympathetic patriotic vote and young girls who think he's hot must be voting for him. He can only sing country, and just shows that he's not cut out for the contest anymore. Why does he look so unhappy?

Clay and Rueben are equally good, I don't see either as an 'idol' but both are talented. Kimberly has really improved and is great too.

I totally agree with Liz, people didn't vote for Ruben because, they feel he is already getting so many votes.

I still think this is what happened to Tamaira Grey on the first season.

shelzyp - Yup! That's exactly what I was thinking - that it was the same thing that happened with Tamyra from last year. IMO, *she's* the one who should have won - not Clarkson. Blech.

Hopefully the same thing doesn't happen next week and Ruben winds up being Tamyra and Josh winds up being that funky haired girl from last year - I forget her name.

Did anyone hear Tamyra sing that song about her father on Boston Public? I dont watch the show but they played it on the radio Tuesday morning and it had everyone crying.

I was shocked with Ruben as well. I think Josh is getting a lot of sympathy votes. He will probably be the next to go.

I like Ruben and I think he's great. Not too sure if I think he should win yet. I'm torn between him and Kimberly.

As far as Josh goes, yes he has sounded awful these last couple of weeks. But I have to say again, he sings country and outside of NY & CA there are many, many country fans. More country fans then Barry White fans. So although I don't agree with it based on talent, I have to say that I'm not totally surprised that between the 2 of them, Ruben was in the bottom 2. I don't think it has anything to do with a sympathy vote. I really think it's the love of country music in the majority of the country that keeps him going strong.

Bottom line, all Ruben lovers better start voting for him next week because it's not so definite that he is going to win this.
