American Idol - who's in the bottom 3?

Original post by JimmysBride

It's getting a little tougher now... I really wasn't thrilled with tonight's theme or song choices.

It a tough call but I'm thinking bottom 3 will be

1. Scott
2. Anthony
3. Anwar

And probably Scott will go.

I agree with this. I think Scott is going home.

The judges seem to like Anwar. I don't. I want to like Anthony, I really do, but he's just not cutting it.

Scott.. .eewww

I cannot believe I missed AI last night

BUT just based on things I heard from my friends (and you guys) it sounds like Anthony had a horrible night -- and Scott , well he's SCOTT and by default he NEEDS TO GO!!

As long as Constantine is around for awhile, I'm a happy girl

I can't pick who is in the bottom 3....I didn't like very many of the performances...Lets just say that Carrie, Vonzell, Constantine and Bo were decent.....

I thought the show was boring...who ever picked musicals should be fired!

Although he is not good, I still feel bad for Anthony. He tries hard every week, for a kid that was born with no voice and can now sing, not bad. He's not great but he's not horrible. Believe me there have been worse contestants than him on AI....remember John Stevens...LOL and who could forget the horrible Mikala...

Scott and Constantine are annoying...in my OPINION and should go...but I have a feeling they are safe tonight cuz Anthony is going home.

scott needs to go. i can't stand him. he is not someone to be considered an idol--

anthony is not the greatest singer, but he has a fan base so he'll prob stay. i bet anwar gets the boot.

No way for Bo in the bottom three...my guesses are:

Anthony (I'd say he's done tonight)

Scott

Anwar (Does anyone like this guy? He gives me the creeps with those wide-eyed looks of his!)

I would also like to say that I can't believe these people (besides Constantine) didn't know Broadway songs. I know they're not from NY, but every high school in America does musicals. And with their singing ability, I can't believe they weren't in a few! Plus, how stupid to not let them do songs from newer musicals (obviously ones that have recently gone off Broadway, like Les Mis or Miss Saigon, because they wouldn't be able to get the rights to ones on Broadway). Then the show might have had a chance at being a bit cooler!

Those shows are still on tours across America and are playing still in countries around the world. That probably makes securing the rights more difficult. Plus, the newer musicals are a lot tougher vocally. Hitting an E flat (Paula seems to think it is astonishing that people do that) is not unusual and is actually required to sing the newer musicals.

My bottom three:

Scott - Man of La Mancha is one of my favorite shows. He successfully butchered one of the most beautiful b'way songs of all time.

Nadia - She did nothing with the song. It has a great melody and actable lyric, bith of which were lost on her.

Bo - Stephen Schwartz called and he wants his song back!!! I like the guy. I know that he was out of his element, but a good singer is a good singer no matter what they are singing. I think he let his nerves get the best of him.

I am a huge broadway fan, and I could've chosen MUCH better songs for last night.

As far as Bo- I love Pippin, and Corner of the Sky is a great song - it irritated me that he skipped the first verse though - it's the best one! FH kept saying that it stinks that they couldn't sing current musicals, because Bo would've done an incredible 'One Song Glory' from Rent. Can't you see it?

Scott actually disgusts me now. I never liked him from the beginning, but it just gets worse and worse every week.

Anthony should just never sing again. Ever. I left the room last night 'cause I hated it.

Eta: Still Love Nikko though

I personally think that Bo was great. But, he could have picked a song from Hair or Jesus Christ Superstar. They might have been more him.

I was really hoping that Bo would do a song from 'Superstar,' too! That would've been so great. I love the songs in that show.

I said to brad last night that either Constantine or Bo should sing One Song Glory!! It would have been wonderful. I thought that one of them should have at least chosen something from a rock-opera!

I don't think they had that choice. I auditioned a few years ago for Star Search and at the callback they handed you a list of songs to pick from that were pre-approved. I looked at the musical section and it was sparce to say the least. There was a bunch of crap on that list.

Well .. not sure how many songs they were given to choose from .. but one of the nights .. they were each handed a HUGE book to choose from.

Anyway .. combine their age with the musicals they were allowed to choose from .. and I'm sure many of them had never even heard their songs before .. which could sometimes be a good thing .. too many times it seems like the contestants are trying to copy rather than sing .. with that said .. sometimes I think the audience appreciates hearing when the songs sound like a copy rather than an original.

As for bottom three .. I can not believe it's going to be all guys .. NO WAY .. the audience was brain-washed early on that the guys ruled .. and so far .. they've delivered based on that early assessment.

If I could put 3 in the bottom .. it'd be:
Anthony
Nikko
Scott

But that is not going to happen tonight
