So I was reading the 08 board and someone asked what was the average gift amount is per couple. My standard gift is $300...I give more if it is a closer friend and less if the friend is not as close ($275). What about everyone else?

I totally agree!!!! $300 is my standard amount as well and if they are not as close, also either 250 or 275.

We usually give about $300, more for closer friends and less for weddings where we've had to travel far and stay overnight, or for weddings that were upstate. We gave $250 for an upstate wedding, and we were actually the highest givers!

If it is someone close or family 300 is minimum, like a really close friend...
if not, then we give 200

We always give $300 as a minimum... Gave $400 to my cousin last night
