Should I be inviting all of my single friends with a guest? I'd rather keep the numbers down with our budget, but I don't want to be rude. Thanks.

Re: 'And Guest' Etiquette
we are only giving our single guests that option if they are dating someone...if not, then they don't get a guest. I think if you give people the option and they aren't dating anyone then they start inviting friends and such.

9, so that's over 1000 additional dollars to lay out. It makes a difference. And I do want to clarify, I'm not talking about people in relationships, I'm talking about completely single people.

I'm inviting everyone with a guest. We actually have noticed most of our single guests are saying they are not going to bring anyone. We still felt it was nice to offer it.

Re: 'And Guest' Etiquette
Hey love!
We are only inviting '+guest' to people who are already in a relationship. We have a handful of (mostly guy friends) we are not adding a +guest to. I am addressing invites to relationship people..
Ms. J. Smith & Mr. L. Doe

Re: 'And Guest' Etiquette
the only friends getting a guest are ones that are engaged or near engagement. We had to cut friends that we would have liked to be there but for numbers sake were taken off the list. i didn't want to pay for someone to bring a random guest over people that my FH and i know and would have rather have there

Re: 'And Guest' Etiquette
i'm inviting everyone w a guest.
One thing to think about when not inviting someone with a guest is that if they will know anyone there. If they won't know a soul, then you should invite them w a guest. Same with members of the BP. They should be allowed to bring a guest. I had a friend do this to my other friend and she still resents her for it. And then... if you're making an exception for those people, will everyone else get upset? just something to think about....

Re: 'And Guest' Etiquette
We decided to invite everyone with a guest, but that's because for exampel i have some friends I wanted to invite but I'm not in that great touch with so I don't know if hey have a bf/gf or not. In the end, we just said screw it and invited everyone with a guest, but if I didn't have a high minimum I'd only invite people I know are in relationships.

Re: 'And Guest' Etiquette
We are only giving our friends a guest if they are in a relationship. I don't want randoms at our wedding. Also, we have a very large group of friends who all know each other so they will be fine.
For a few of my parents' divorced friends, we will probably give guests just so that they don't have to sit alone.
ETA- if we gave EVERYONE a guest, we would have over 300 people. We don't want that and neither do our wallets.

Re: 'And Guest' Etiquette
I think anyone over the age of 21 should be entitled to bring a guest....more than likely, if they are single they wont bring anyone so I would at least give the option

Re: 'And Guest' Etiquette
my friend told me proper ettiquette is everybody gets a guest. i'm sure it's a nice gesture but FH and I are paying for this. therefore, only those with significant others and extremely close single friends are getting a guest. others can go suck it. sorry..had to say it!

I did. I'm just hoping they don't bring anyone. We will see! There are only a couple so we will see.
