I missed the whole thing.. I was at a charity thingy last night.. someone fill me in

It's a tough one to describe!

OK, first off they don't know if Tony is OK from being shot. He's in the hospital being operated on, but so far he's alive. Michelle had to decide whether to go to him in the hospital or stay and be in charge of CTU, because with Jack and Tony gone, she's the only one qualified. She stayed. A bunch of people (including the bad guy who works for CTU but is conspiring with Salazar) tried to convince her to go, saying that they'd take over, but she said no (smart Michelle!)

Meanwhile, Jack and co. is still looking for Kyle Singer, who has escaped from the mall. Kyle met up with his girlfriend, who picked him up, and she freaked out when he told her about the virus and tried to run away. Unfortunately, the bad guys caught up with them and took them away... so now both Kyle and his girlfriend are locked up somewhere.

There's still bad blood between Ann and President Palmer's brother Wayne. Ann spoke to the Pres and urged him not to participate with the blackmail deal that Wayne set up. So of course when Wayne found out he had to go 'have words' with Ann. This could get ugly... but nothing major happened yet besides idle threats.

Jack calls the President and tells him that there's not enough time to find Singer before he starts to be contagious, and he urges the Pres to release Salazar, so that they can get Singer back and prevent the virus from being released to the public. But the Pres says no, that he doesnt negotiate with terrorists and refuses to release Salazar. Jack then tells him that he has a plan - and this plan will end up making Jack out to be the bad guy. What he wants to do is break Salazar out of jail. He thinks it's the only way to go to prevent millions of people from dying if the virus were to be released. The President thinks he's crazy and says if he goes through with it, he'll be a fugitive, and there won't be anything he can do to save Jack from the consequences. Jack says he understands that, but his actions will prevent the Pres from being seen as giving in to the terrorists and jeopardizing his campaign for another Presidential term. So eventually the Pres agrees that Jack should go through with it.

Next, Chase was mad about being sidelined, so he decided to take it upon himself to go interrogate Salazar in prison. As he arrives, Jack calls him and yells at him to stop (knowing that he has to get his own plan moving). Chase ignores him and threatens to tell everyone that he's a junkie if he tries to stop him. Chase enters the prison and starts beating up Salazar, trying to get information. In walks Jack, and he convinces Chase to stop fighting and try to handle it like reasonable people. As Chase is walking, Jack sneaks up from behind and puts him in a sleepr hold! So Chase is unconscious and Jack tells Salazar that this is the only way that he can get him out of prison. He tells him to just be quiet and follow him and he'll get back to his brother. They both tie up Chase and lock him in the prison. The security cameras had been turned off when Chase first got there, and now Jack moved them around so that when they went back on no one would notice Chase in Salazar's cell. So Jack is working his way out of the prison with Salazar, on the grounds that he is being transferred to another section (Kim helped Jack with this paperwork, as a cover up, but not knowing exactly what she was doing... just trusting her father). When Jack is almost out, the prison warden turns the cameras back on and notices the funny angles. Immediately he rushes to the cell and sees Chase bound and gagged. Once they free him, Chase shouts that Jack is lying. So everyone runs to try to stop Jack before he gets out with Salazar. It's almost too late... Jack hears what's going on and beats up one of the guards and takes his keys. They both rush into the security booth and Jack puts a gun to the guard's head and orders him to unlock ALL of the cells.... so now all of the prisoners are running free and RIOTING!!

I really am not loving this season

Neither am I. It's happening too fast... Jack is just all messed up. I hate this idea hw has to make himself look like the bad guy. I mean, he KNOWS he is going to go to jail for it... the President even told him he'll be a fugitive and there won't be anything anyone can do about it. He's trying to be the 'hero' but I just don't like how it's going. First it's heroin, now this.

I hope it gets better.

Man.. that sounds so high paced.
