We actually passed the test, got the interview and I think we've got a GREAT SHOT at getting on!!!!!

There was a post a while back about Who wants to be a millionaire (the game show on ABC)----they are having a 'Play to Pay for your Wedding' Week (to be aired around V-Day.......so, I randomly signed up on their website....was sent an email for us to audition and take their test....and of the 40+ couples there with us today....6 couples passed (incuding us)---and we got interviewed to go on the show

we were supposed to go but I don't get out of work til 6, and FH had a soccer game at 7..Hope we get to see a LIW girl on there-- what was the test like?

You guys have SO many great ideas.......we'll have to narrow down the phone-a-friend field when/if the time comes......but FABULOUS idea for a 'phone-a-friend' thread!!!Now that it's over in NY, I can tell you guys a bit about the test....it was 30 multiple choice questions--all asked about more recent events and pop-culture type stuff. A couple of examples included what Match.com was for (relationships), how many bits in a byte (8), the youngest SNL host ever (drew barrymore), the chief of staff for Bush (andrew card), etc.....
Most of them seemed fairly easy to both FH and I.....we were able to remember 29 out of 30 questions together....we're still working on the last one. Not sure how the tests were scored...if it was combined or if each person needed to get a certain score. They gave us a limited time to answer all the questions, then graded them right there....out of the 40 or so couples, only 6 couples passed the test. So, we all got interviewed and they said that the next step is to receive a postcard in the mail or maybe a phone call to determine if we're going to get on the show. We know that FH did better than me, but we don't know by how many.....based on our question list, it seems he got 3 wrong and I got 5 wrong. But, we still can't remember that last question. Most were questions that one would just need to be up-to-date in politics/life/celebrities, but some were off the wall, weird questions that only strange birds, such as ourselves, would know.
Anyway...I don't want to give up too much more b/c you never know who's lurking......but, the good news is we've made it past step one and hopefully onto step two.
We've already began 'arguing' over how much money we'll give our parents if we win more than the wedding costs.....should be an interesting debate.
Of course, I'll keep everybody posted.......but I still waiting to hear from anybody that was supposed to go tonight --to see how they did!!!
Wouldn't it be great if we had a few LIW'ers on the show!!! We'll have a great monopoly!!! Woo hoo!!!
