And the FMIL begins.......

And so it begins. For years, we've all been comparing FH's mother to Marie Barone from Everybody Loves Raymond. We're all convinced that will be my life. Well except the coming over unexpected because she would never do that. Anyway, has anyone seen the episode after Robert and Amy get married and they come home from their honeymoon and Marie gives Amy crap about not sending Thank You notes quick enough? Well.......that just happened to me.

About a week ago, FH's mother gave us a gift from one of her co-workers. It was a pretty picture frame as a small congratulations gift. Well, today I get a call from FH's brother telling me that his mother made a comment about me not sending a thank you note yet. FH's brother stood up for me (as he always does) and said I was probably waiting to send out a batch after the e-party. Which is EXACTLY what I was going to do. I explained that I was going to send out thank you notes for pre-engagement party AND engagement party gifts all at once (e-party is Feb. 15th). Apparently however, she just can't believe I haven't even asked for the address yet....

This is going to be a very interesting year and a half......

She really is ridiculous. I'm just waiting for the day I ask her the recipe for one of FH's favorite foods and she sets me up with a wrong ingredient

Just ask her for the address but send it when you want to!!!

FMIL bought me thank you cards to send out (primarily to her friend).

I'm actually waiting for FH to get the address

Oh the fun and games of being engaged!!!

Find somewhere on line where it says that it's customary to send out ty's after the ep for gifts received prior to that, copy it and give it to her.

Ahh, FMILs. I can't really complain about mine. She is a sweet lady but I do feel your pain about in-laws because my FSILs are a bunch of winners.

As far as I know, it was from the co-worker. Only the co-worker gave it to her to give us. Whatever, guess I'll just have to get to writing thank you's sooner than expected

However, FSIL and FBIL are wonderful. They've already threatened bodily violence on FMIL if she bothers me too much They know how she can be.

Ahhh!!!! MIL's can be challenging to say the least..
Just let FH deal with her.. and send a quick thank you!

I saw that post! I have to say, I'm so sorry. My FMIL is very big on her reputation and other people being 'rude' to her that I don't think she would EVER do that.
