And you thought YOUR wedding was big?!!?!?!?!

A friend of mine had a wedding to go to last night. The bride was persian and the groom was italian. GET THIS.... they invited 1500. Only expected 1000 to show ( mind you the ballroom only holds 1000) well 1400 rsvp's yes!!! They had to put tables in the hall way and take out all the bars from the corners of the room and put those in the hallway also!!
Can you imagine 1400 people at your wedding?!?!!? Times almost $100 a plate

THAT IS A VERY VERY BIG WEDDING. I WOULD HATE TO BE THE ONE DOING THE THANK YOU CARDS. DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE WEDDING WAS HELD?

I went to the Wyndham (Hyatt now) Wind Watch the other night to block book rooms and they said they do a lot of Indian/Asian weddings. The SMALLEST one was 580! And, they arrange it all within 3 months

I'd get carpel tunnel just from wrapping the favors let alone writing out the thank yous.

that is ridic!

But I guess different cultures do different things..

I bet it was a fun experience though! Unless of course you were seated at a table in the hallway.

That is ridiculous....

My parents had over 600 people at their wedding...but that was 1976 and they had a buffet. Everyone in the family chipped in by cooking.
